Music Director –

Lincoln, RI. The Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus, an SATB, non-auditioned, intergenerational chorus, is seeking a director to begin Summer of 2009.

Qualifications:
A minimum Bachelor of Music degree and significant, proven directing skills, to include:
1. A passion for excellence in choral directing.
2. Ability to teach basic music theory to adults and junior/senior high school students. Ability to guide volunteer/amateur singers in choral techniques and vocal production; teach musicianship, singing in foreign languages, and provide background/historical context of music and composers.
3. Broad knowledge of diverse repertoire with creative and interpretive skills for varied musical genres
4. Knowledge of musical arrangement and composition.
5. Demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills, organizational, motivational, and group management skills. Team builder and ambassador for the chorus in the community.
6. Patient, with a sense of humor and strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to varying age groups and personalities. Ability to collaborate with accompanist and other professional instrumentalists as needed; willingness to advise Board in artistic decisions affecting the chorus; willingness to support the developmental efforts of the chorus.

Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7-9:15pm. Other subgroups rehearse on a different night.
CLCC performs between 15-20 concerts year. Salary is negotiable.
