Armchair Quarterback Guy Cook, Treasurer Nothing beats watching your favorite team
play on TV at the Elmwood! The
establishment of the Raven’s Nest has really proved to be a winner for all
of us. Win, lose or
draw we all win when you can enjoy watching your favorite team or game with
your friends. If it had not
been for the origination of the Nest, many of us would not have taken the
initiative to interact with each other and forge the friendships that have
grown from being a Nest member. We got off to
a rocky start, but thanks to our newly elected President Toni, we have made
a strong comeback and things are progressing nicely. If you are a
football fan that likes to wager a dollar or two on a game, you may be
interested to know that as of the end of week # 7, 100 games had been
played for the year and 58% of them had been won by the underdog. The Ravens won
their Super Bowl in ‘2001 by being underdogs throughout the season and the
playoffs. In recent
years passed, it has only taken a regular season of an 8-8 record to get
into the playoffs or earn a wildcard spot.
As of week # 7 The Raven are sitting at a 4-2 record with a strong
position for entering into the post season.
Go Ravens! Let’s see a strong show of support for our team in
purple. I feel
fortunate to have met and formed the relationships with all the Nest
members and look forward to many more happy meetings. Guy
