TIM WINTON

The Miles Franklin Award is a $30,000 award bequeathed by the will of Australian novelist Miles Franklin for a published novel or play portraying Australian life in any of its phases. The winner is announced in May/June for a work published in the twelve months ending the previous January 31st. The first award was made in 1957.
