The Horror Writers Association presents the Bram Stoker Awards annually. The winners are determined by vote of the active members, and presented at the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet. To ameliorate the competetive nature of the awards, the Stokers are given for "superior Achievement" not for "best of the year."
