Aug 25 Monte Carlo Jazz Ensemble The MCJE recreates the sounds and rhythms of the golden age of American popular music.  Its repertoire includes hot dance tunes, dreamy romantic ballads, "peppy period pops",  blues, stomps, and ragtime.  The arrangements are crafted specifically for this ensemble to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts, and the solo skills of the musicians energize the performances in a way that recalls Fletcher Henderson, Tiny Parham, McKinney's Cotton Pickers, Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers, and other exciting bands of the nineteen twenties, thirties and forties.  Monte Carlo 2007
Sep 1 Swing Times Five with Debby Larkin Jeff Hughes (cornet, flugel), supported by simpatico players who explore diverse corners of the American songbook, with lots of Ellington, Strayhorn, Gershwin, Porter, Kern, and Arlen, including many seldom-heard numbers.  Ross Petot piano, Justin Meyer string bass, Eric Baldwin guitar, Dave Didriksen drums, and special guest, vocalist Debby Larkin. Come for a swinging evening of relaxation and reminiscence. (subject to change)
Sep 8 Guy Van Duser & Billy Novick Together as a duo for more than thirty years, Guy and Billy have performed in concerts, clubs and festivals all over North America and Europe.  Elegant, Riveting, Soulful, Classic Mastery, are a few of the terms that have been used to describe the unique and stunning swing-jazz music of acoustic guitarist Guy Van Duser and clarinetist Billy Novick.  Their music has wed together two perfectly suited musical personalities.

Sep 22 Wolverine Jazz Band Since 1995 the Wolverine Jazz Band has been entertaining lovers of Traditional Jazz all over Boston and southern New England. Nov 24 Jazz Jesters Novelty Orchestra Fans of Ray Smith's Paramount Jazz Band are sure to enjoy the Jazz Jesters! JJNO has Jeff Hughes (cornet) and Jimmy Mazzy (banjo & vocals) from the ol' PJB, plus the dynamic reed duo of John Clark and Craig Ball, and rhythm stalwarts Ross Petot (piano), Albie Bernard (tuba) and Bill Reynolds (drums), doing some swell tunes from the heart of the Jazz Decade. Many of their sources are actual arrangements from the '20s, and they augment these with improvised takes on other pieces of the era. The bandsmen here have long association with and love of the hot jazz style that defined the birth of jazz. Their sound is reminiscent of that fine band Ray put together 25 years ago, but with its own excitement and personality. In addition, JJNO features delightful chanteuse Ginny Briggs, who specializes in the unique repertoire of classic '20s singer Jane Green. This night will be sweet & hot!
