Finale - with Jeff Barnhart

at The 22nd Annual Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival
July 25-27, 2008

The Drum Off started out peacefully - 6 drummers, 2 sets of drums.  Jeff: "Odds are NOT in our favor."  Sugarfoot's Molly Sayles and Blue Street's Rick Canfield sat at the drums,  Caravan of course.

But then the other drummers standing there were feeling left out, so they quickly ran through the rain and retrieved their snare drums, and joined in, sitting on the floor. Caravan pandemonium.

Somebody decided to crown the littlest drummer, Danny Coots with a toilet seat.  That's when leader Jeff Barnhart began taking away all the snare drums.

Through all this bedlam, Leary on guitar and Jurcak on tuba carried on with Caravan.

But there must be something inherently primeval about drums, they couldn't/wouldn't stop.  Ted Desplantes & Paul Midiri continued drumming on Molly's cymbals
