TAUNTON, Ma. – In the mood for a pianoman who blends a Billy
Joel-like personna with his own intense music? How about a manic
duo whose jazz-infused pop tunes are a match for the pair’s
rapid-fire banter?
You’ll find it hard to resist a smile--or tapping your feet–when
pianist/singer-songwriter Adam Goldberg is joined by tuneful
cutups Chris Frasco and Sean Rohrer in a split show 7-9 p.m.
Sunday, March 30 at Steve’s Backstage Pass, 15 School St.,
Taunton.
Chris Frasco's music blends elements of jazz with everyday pop.
The songs are upbeat, catchy, and fun to sing along to. Frasco’s
partner is percussionist-singer Sean Rohrer, who occasionally
swaps his drums for Frasco’s guitar.
Goldberg’s piano-based rock draws on influences ranging from pop
culture (game show host Bob Barker gets a nod in one of his
tunes) to pop psychology (“In Advance” warns that the artist
might have turned out just a bit different than what some of his
friends had imagined).
His intense live performances along with his two albums of
original material are both stimulating and thought-provoking.
Mixing rhythmic piano riffs with poignant and often sarcastic
lyrics makes for a powerful listening experience.
Sunday
Night Jazz, hosted by Rick Foster, is the Taunton-Attleboro
