She paired that delicate, childlike delivery with swinging piano playing, decorating such humorous tunes as "I'm Shadowing You" and "My New Celebrity Is You." On this program from 1985, Dearie performs her hits and joins McPartland for a piano duet of "Everything I've Got Is Yours."

Fans of Ray Smith's Paramount Jazz Band are sure to enjoy the Jazz Jesters! JJNO has Jeff Hughes (cornet) and Jimmy Mazzy (banjo & vocals) from the ol' PJB, plus the dynamic reed duo of John Clark and Craig Ball, and rhythm stalwarts Ross Petot (piano), Albie Bernard (tuba) and Bill Reynolds (drums), doing some swell tunes from the heart of the Jazz Decade. Many of their sources are actual arrangements from the '20s, and they augment these with improvised takes on other pieces of the era. The bandsmen here have long association with and love of the hot jazz style that defined the birth of jazz. Their sound is reminiscent of that fine band Ray put together 25 years ago, but with its own excitement and personality. In addition, JJNO features delightful chanteuse Ginny Briggs, who specializes in the unique repertoire of classic '20s singer Jane Green. This night will be sweet & hot!  Reservations, please.
