As an educator, he has given master classes at Colby College, Cape Elizabeth and South Portland High Schools, as well as Los Angeles public schools.

He is currently a professor at the University of Maine at Augusta (teaching music theory and jazz piano), and an adjunct professor at Bowdoin College (jazz piano). In addition to his time spent in the academic world, Matt maintains a busy performing schedule—working as a solo jazz pianist/vocalist, as well as playing keyboards, handling arrangements, and co-writing material for several different bands.

Because of the expected cold weather, the reception will be in the church hall.  This is Milford's first CROP Hunger Walk on Saturday, October 17th, beginning at 10am. This fundraiser, through the  humanitarian agency, is one of over 2,000 walks throughout the US. 25% of the funds raised will go directly to the Milford Daily Bread Food Pantry, with the remaining funds directed toward disaster relief and food sustenance programs already in place throughout the United States and the world.

NY “Remembering Stuyvesant Casino & Central Plaza” with Vince Giordano at Symphony Space, Broadway & 95th St., New York City. The Sidney Bechet Society presents a tribute to two legendary jazz venues: Stuyvesant Casino & Central Plaza. Joining Vince will be Randy Reinhart, trumpet; Mark Lopeman, reeds; Jim Fryer, trombone; Ehud Asherie, piano; Kenny Salvo, banjo; Rob Garcia, drums, and Ricky Gordon on washboard. During the 1940s and 1950s, these were the hotbeds of traditional Jazz in NYC. All the greats played there. Vince Giordano will lead a hot band recreating the music one would hear at both establishments. Special guest stars are pianist Marty Napoleon & clarinetist Sol Yaged, who played at both venues. Marty & Sol are 88 and 87 years old, respectively, and still swinging hard!
