is one of the gems of the local music scene, and when he plays from his book
of favorites, he really shines. Jeff Hughes (cornet, flugel) joins
in the celebration, supported by simpatico players Justin Meyer
(string bass), Dan Weiner (guitar), and Dave Didriksen
(drums). Their repertoire explores diverse corners of the American songbook,
with lots of Ellington, Strayhorn, Gershwin, Porter, Kern, and Arlen,
including many seldom-heard numbers. Come for a swinging evening of
relaxation and reminiscence. |
