1 Tue 7-9:30pm Debby Larkin, one of New England's favorite jazz vocalists, joins Swing Times Five for a genuinely swinging evening at the Sherborn Inn, 33 N. Main St. Sherborn MA (508) 655-9521 $10 admission. Ross Petot (piano) is one of the gems of the local music scene, and when he plays from his book of favorites, he really shines.  Jeff Hughes (cornet, flugel) joins in the celebration, supported by simpatico players Justin Meyer (string bass), Dan Weiner (guitar), and Dave Didriksen (drums). Their repertoire explores diverse corners of the American songbook, with lots of Ellington, Strayhorn, Gershwin, Porter, Kern, and Arlen, including many seldom-heard numbers.  Come for a swinging evening of relaxation and reminiscence.

She is also in demand as a freelance trumpet player and vocalist throughout New England.

NY: The Sidney Bechet Society presents trombone sensation Wycliffe Gordon leading a “History of Jazz Trombone” at Symphony Space, Broadway & 95th St., NY.  Wycliffe & the band will remember the legends of this soulful instrument, jazz titans like Kid Ory, Jack Teagarden, Lawrence Brown, Tricky Sam Nanton, Juan Tizol, Tommy Dorsey, J.C. Higginbotham, Tyree Glenn, Al Grey and Buster Cooper.
