From the Office
January 2009
“Happy New Year” to all of
our families! The year of 2009 has
arrived! And in addition to the year
“2009” upon us, our celebration of Chinese New Year is “The Year of the Ox”!
We hope this brings all of
our families a well, and happy to return to New World CDC. We wish and hope that everyone had a
wonderful holiday! It is nice to get
back to the children; we are happy for you to get back to your co-workers and
routines, too!
January brings us still more
cold weather; possible rainy. It is
usually considered a very white month with more snow falling in the hills, and
places close to us within a few hours.
Many of our families are able to visit the snow and have the most
enjoyable times!
For our second year in a row,
we are asking our families to recycle as much wrapping paper from their gifts
as possible. The children will use it to
create special art projects during their day!
January 13 will be “White Day”! Everyone wear white if you have it!
January 19, we will be CLOSED
in honor of Martin Luther King’s Birthday, but our staff will be taking
advantage of this being a Staff in-Service Day.
We, the staff will be here having workshops and doing that extra
cleaning, but there will be no child care.
In celebration of Chinese New
Year, the children will be making dumplings on Fri., January 23. Our annual Chinese New Year Potluck
celebration will be on Mon., January 26, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. along with
the preschoolers performing their famous Lion Dance. We hope all of our families will be able to
join us in this fun celebration!
“Happy Birthday to Miss Rose
in the Rainbow Room!”
Reminder: Always fasten your seat belts; and as of
January 1, 2009, texting in your car will also not be allowed. “Safety First”!
