The following is a Walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. To begin a game, from the start screen, press start, and then select a file from the next screen. Enter your name. If your game is a link game, then select link and insert the code from the end of Oracle of Seasons.
I. Why Everything got Screwed up
A. Moving the Rock
a. After selecting your name, you will be falling while shining blue, and a mysterious voice says "Accept our quest, Hero!" You wake up in a wood. All you con do is go up, twice. You hear a voice. After continuing to the next screen, you see Impa, Princess Zelda's Nurse. She will follow you. Continue forward, and pay no attention to the monkeys. Go left. Impa wants you to move the rock. Move it, and and you will hear an unlocking sound. Impa is ecstatic that you did that.
B. Talking to Nayru
a. Continue up two screens. You hear singing while doing so. As you come up on the second screen, you see animals surrounding Nayru. You need to talk to every animal first, then talk to the reddish bear. He will move. Get closer to Nayru. You will go into a picture screen. Then Ralph, her protector will blab on with you.
C. The Worst Possible Thing
a. Impa begins to laugh. She spins and a dark spirit comes out. It materializes. The spirit is Veran, Sorceress of Shadow. She possesses Nayru, taking over her body. Ralph threatens to cut Veran, but she is too smart. If Ralph cuts her, then Nayru will take the pain ,and Veran will be unharmed. She flys away to a nearby ledge. She then goes into the past to wreak havok. Several things go wrong. Ralph knew of Nayru's state. He blames himself. He claims he will save her (but guess who does).
D. Getting the Sword
a. Simply talk to the previously possessed Impa, she will give a blurb and give you Sword L-1.
II. Lynna City
A. The Rings
a. Go South, to the place where you pushed the rock. Go South again, then use your sword to cut grass and go West. You will emerge in Lynna City. If you enter the shop, you can purchase a shield for 30 rupees. Remember that for future reference. Go North, to the shop with a ring sign over it. Talk to the man inside. He will give you a lecture on rings, and how to use them. Remember what he says. Then go North and East. Enter the house. These two farmers have recently had their first baby, and you can name him! Do so and go East.
B. Maku Road
a. You arenow in a central square. There is a gate ahead; you need to pass it. But you cannot. So go to its left. There is a small cave. It is not hard to pass; in fact, if it wasn't for one block, you could just go straight forward! When you emerge, you see a giant tree. It tells you that it's the Maku Tree, and it will help you, and blah, until it vanishes. Then go to the next screen to the right. Enter the portal that is active there, and you are transported to the past!
C. Saving the Maku Tree
a. Getting the Shovel
i. When you emerge in the past, someone will be waiting, and say that everything has been messed up since Nayru came. Leave the ledge and go South, then West. You need to see what Veran has done to the Maku Tree, but you cannot because there is dirt in the way. Go South, then West, and up the stairs. Continue West, passing Queen Ambi's Palace, to a house. Enter it. The guy will ramble about Gasha seeds and how much he hates them. He'll give you one to get rid of it. Go South until you reach the Southwestern corner of the Village. Continue South, then East when you can. There is a guard in the way. Talk to him, he'll move. Continue forward into the Black Tower. The people are working on it, so it isn't complete. Go East and around the circle until you are in a passage that was North of the starting room. Talk to the man looking at a paper. He thinks you're willing to help, but you just take the shovel he gives you and leave. After exiting the Black Tower, go to the right of the person who was blocking the path. Get rid of the dirt and grab the Piece of Heart.
b. Maku Road: Again, or for the first time, if you really think about it.
i. Return to the place where you went to Maku Road, but in the past. Dig away the dirt and enter the cave. This version of the cave is not totally destroyed, so you actually have to solve some puzzles. In the first room, you need to push a block forward, to where you saw it in the present. Go North, then East. There should be some Gels in there. Destroy them, or else they will slow you down temporarily. A door will open, go through it. This room consists of one narrow path. There is a chest in here, but you cannot see it at first. A button must be pushed to reveal it. Wander around the right side narrow platform, pushing blocks to a switch. The chest will appear. Once again, maneuver around the platforms and open the chest. It is a small key. Return to the central room. Go West. Now that you have a key, you can. In this room, you need to move the blocks on the left side so you can reach the switch. The door will open. In this room, defeat the Stalfos and push the blocks in the Northwest corner of the room to get to the piece of heart. Go East, then North, up the stairs. Two Moblins are attacking the Maku Tree Sapling. Defeat them. The Tree will thank you. Go South. Before you go, she will promise to marry you. There is an active portal; use the shovel to get to it and you will return to the present.
III. Getting to Spirit's Grave
A. Getting the Seed Satchel
i. You will emerge just South of the Maku Tree. Go North to the Tree. It's alive! It talks to you, explaining that you need to go find the eight essences of Time to restore her memory. She then gives you a Seed Satchel. Go South to the central square. There should be a sapling on the Eastern side of it. You can burn it down with your new ember seeds. When you do so, you will find 30 Rupees! Now you can go to the shop and buy that shield!
B. Getting the Graveyard Key
i. Return to the place where you found Impa in the beginning. There is a small tree on the right of the screen. Use your seed satchel to burn it. It will vanish. Go East, and burn the other tree in your way. Head East again. If you go North, you can see the gate that you need to open. If you go South, you find some obnoxious kids talking about some ghost, which you can only solve after getting the item in the first dungeon. Go South again, then east. You should be at an apparent dead end. But if you burn the Southern tree, a stair will be revealed. In the cavern, it will be dark. But the floor has holes, but they are in some pattern. From above it looks like a skull. But you can light this place up. There are two torches. Light both. The graveyard key will drop from the ceiling.
C. Entering Spirit's Grave
i. Return to the area with the gate. Open it at the lock. If you continue North, East, South, and South again, then West, you can see what the kids were babbling about. There is a ghost, but you cannot reach it. Go East to leave from this unsolvable puzzle. Then go South. Spirit's Grave is the one and only cave on this screen.
