Before time began, before spirits and life even existed... Three golden goddesses descended upon the chaos that was Hyrule... Din, the goddess of power... Nayru, the goddess of wisdom... Farore, the goddess of courage... Din... With her strong flaming arms, she cultivated the land and created the red earth. Nayru... Poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world. Farore... With her rich soul, produced all life forms who would uphold the law. The three great goddesses, their labors completed, departed for the heavens. And golden sacred triangles remained at the point where the goddesses left the world. Since then, the sacred triangles have become the basis for our world’s province. And, the resting place of the triangles has become the Sacred Realm. -The Great Deku Tree, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
That has been yielded many a time before as the beginning of Hyrule. However, another, parallel dimension was created at the same time in an unknown manner. That is the land of Termina, and only for a short time do the two dimensions cross. Other dimensions were yet to come, yet would not be created for a while. This Textbook will describe a history of the great land of Hyrule, and some of other lands.
For ages, the people lived at ease, content in mind and body... But soon, word of the Sacred Realm spread through Hyrule, and a great battle ensued... Among those living in the light, interlopers who excelled at magic appeared. Wielding powerful sorcery, they tried to establish dominion over the Sacred Realm. It was then that the goddesses ordered us three light spirits to intervene. We sealed away the great magic those individuals had mastered. -Light Spirit Lanayru, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
What Lanayru doesn’t mention is that the interlopers were banished to the Twilight Realm, where they would have a new society for many long years. Then, for many long years, the people were most prosperous, until...
A long, long time ago... When the world was on the verge of being swallowed by shadow... The tiny Picori appeared from the sky, bringing the hero of men a sword and a golden light. With wisdom and courage, the hero drove out the darkness. When peace was restored, the people enshrined that blade with care. -Legend, from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
There was a Great War, in which the Picori People saved the world by giving The Hero a sword and light. But, one thing remained untold. One of the first Links was born, and then given to the Deku Tree as the mother died. Link was raised as a Kokiri, but the real Link was on an Adventure...
The first Ganon comes and steals the Triforce of Power, and Zelda shatters the Triforce of Wisdom. Link journeys throughout Hyrule, finding the pieces and defeats Ganon. But, a part of Ganon remains within the Triforce of Power. He is imprinted into it.
Then, several years later, the minions of Ganon plan to revive him, using a spell. But, Princess Zelda is put into a slumber, and he calls that all princesses in the future will be named Zelda. Link journeys to get Crystals that will allow him to obtain the Triforce of Courage and wake princess Zelda. He succeeds, but must face his own shadow. This Shadow Link was created when Link grabbed the Triforce of Power at the end of the first game. The imprint of Ganon twisted the smaller imprint of Link and sent him away to destroy and wreak havoc.
Then, the people of Hyrule are safe, and Ganon cannot return, so Link goes on an enlightenment journey, but his ship is washed away. He wakes up on mysterious Koholint Island. He journey to get off, but finds the entire game was a dream... oh well.
Now, the new Link from Ocarina of Time goes and comes through the entire journey, until he takes the Master Sword. Then he goes forward 7 years. But, when he is sent back at the end, he cannot return because it is in a different timeline now. The timeline splits into two different tangents, and only one has Link, but one will soon enough.
The Link from OoT now goes on MM, and that is simple enough. But how is it possible? Termina is parallel to Hyrule, which means they never touch. The answer is simple. Let us say that Termina is a dimension parallel to Hyrule, and they look like lines. Parallel lines, in which Termina is on the right and Hyrule is on the left. When the OoT time paradox takes place, the timeline of Hyrule splits into two; one for the world in which Adult Link was, and the world where Young Link was. The Young Link timeline goes some space to the right in the timelines, but not far enough to get to Termina. But, Termina being parallel to Hyrule, some event must have taken place, in which Termina split in the opposite direction, which means its timeline goes to the left, and to the exact distance the other Hyrule split. Now we have the original Termina, Adult Link Hyrule, and a fusion of the two lands. It is then that Link can travel to Termina, because they are connected due to parallel splitting.
Then, at the same time in both Hyrules, Ganon tries to escape. In the land where Ganon took over, ALttP takes place because there is a legend that the seven sages sealed away Ganon. But in the other Hyrule, Ganon simply was trapped in the Sacred Realm after he invaded, because the Master Sword was in the pedestal, which blocks passage to the Sacred Realm, trapping him there. Twilight Princess takes place there.
But, two completely new dimensions, Labrynna and Holodrum, have recently been created. The goddesses have decided that:
Din: Okay, this is getting really ridiculous. Nayru: There are four dimensions. That is just too many. Farore: We need to fuse these dimensions. Nayru: Excellent idea. We will bring upon the worlds the Oracles, and danger will surely befall them. Din: Then we will call upon the Triforce to call Link to another land, to rescue them, and we have seen Twinrova planning... Farore: It is settled then. We must do this, so it is not ridiculous anymore.
Yeah, so Labrynna and Holodrum were created, and the goddesses were getting annoyed that there were now four dimensions. So they fused them all together during the Oracle Games.
Then comes The Minish Cap. The Oracles are found in that game, and they were to be escorted to Hyrule in the Oracle Games. Therefore, it is likely they are in the sequel to such games.
Now comes Four Swords. It has to happen after TMC, but before FSA. So we just put it in between. Next comes FSA after 100 years give or take.
Then, after another 100 years, Hyrule is flooded into what is the land of The Wind Waker. After Wind Waker comes Phantom Hourglass.
