That's What Friends Are For

It’s getting hot in here……

That’s What Friends Are For by Bridget Midway is a novel of erotic friendship, trust and most of all love.

This is a mesmerizing story about a pair of best friends. Ned Cholurski is a computer programmer at a company where none of the employees or even management can identify him by name. In turn, Ned feels as thought he is wasting his time and has not bothered to learn their names either. Instead he calls them (mentally) by nicknames like “Fat Bastard and Nose Picker”.

Fiona Griffin a law student who has graduated with honors and one major problem; she has not been able to get that coveted clerkship that she wants with a top ranking judge. Fiona is determined to get people to see her as more than the empty headed cheerleader from high school, but as an intellectual force to be reckoned with.

Ned and Fiona appear to be an uncommon pair of friends. Not because she is black and he is white, but because she is seemingly this beautiful model type that just happens to have brains, and he appears to be a very average guy that most people classify as a geek, but in actuality he is anything but.

These two friends set out to get where they both feel that they should be professionally and devise this plan that will help them get there. Surprisingly this plan is put together much like a cake. The main ingredients happen to be one half cup of attraction mixed with one and a half cup of lust combined with two cups of desire. Mix thoroughly, bake and top with a heaping helping of sensuous sex.

I started reading this novel and in my mind it was just going to be a book filled with vulgar sex and no story. Amazingly I was surprised as I couldn’t/wouldn’t put this book down. I found the author to be an amazing story weaver. Not only did I enjoy the story, but I was entranced by the descriptive yet sensual lovemaking acts. As a reviewer, I have found myself reading other books that were billed as erotic just for me to determine mid way that it was nothing more than pornographic. The sex in this book was tasteful and perfectly executed without reference to crude descriptions of anatomy. I applaud Ms. Midway for not only being a very talented author by for being able to put across on paper that erotic does not mean vulgarity but can yet be a very beautiful experience.
