Eleanor S. Shields

Founder of Black Butterfly Review Group. Ms. Shields is a writer who loves the written word. As a young child, she would sit for hours writing poetry. As a college student, she was encouraged by her English professor to have her works published. Ms. Shields has been writing ever since and is a literary reviewer for Shades of Romance Magazine (SORMAG) and Literary Essence. Currently Ms. Shields is working on several writing projects in addition to being the mother of two wonderful children and wife to the love of her life.


Angela Hailey

Is a born and bred suburban Washingtonian. The gift of words (reading them and tossing them) is a birthright of her parents, and has been exercised since birth. As a graduate of an HBCU majoring in History under the tutelage of one of the smartest women on the planet,her advisor, she learned early the value of books, and has continued learning since then. When not working in Washington, DC, she enjoys nothing more than settling down with a good book, and her constant feline companion Nero, and GARGANTUAN 20# pet rabbit Miranda (who by the way loves books as well because they taste so good!)


Andrea Blackstone

Author of the book Schemin and Short Changed. Ms. Blackstone is a wonderful writer/reviewer that resides in Maryland where she is currently finishing her third novel.



Makasha Dorsey

Is a Mississippi native who now residing in Tennessee; She is a motivational speaker and author of Christian and Children's literature. Ms. Dorsey has been employed in the entertainment, construction, and financial industries and is now a homemaker. She has just completed her debut novel, “The Church House”, an inspirational mystery dealing with the struggles of a woman who has rededicated her life to GOD.

Alfreda Owens

A elementary school teacher who enjoys children and books. Ms. Owens is an educator that has taught her students the importance of books and how they impact the world.



Sherrian Isaac

Sherrian is originally from Fort Worth, Texas, now working in Washington, DC and is the mother of two beautiful daughters. At an early age, Ms. Isaac began reading Ebony magazines from cover to cover. As she matured from adolescence to adulthood, Ms. Isaac’s interest graduated to historical romance. Currently she finds enjoyment in reading both mysteries and romance novels. Ms. Isaac’s list of credits include: a short story written and submitted to her beloved Ebony Magazine and she is currently working on her next short story which focuses on family.

Sharon "Shaye" Gray, M.P.A

Ms. Gray was born and raised in Central Florida. Where she has been writing and playing teacher ever since she learned to talk. Some say that Ms. Gray acquired her love of books and words from her father, whom she talks daily discussing the newest book releases or the figurative language used in her most recent written pieces, in other words she loves words. Ms. Gray is the Co-Founder of Essentially Women Writing Group. Corresponding Editor of Gumbo For The Soul (an anthology for and about African Americans). Has interned at Strebor International Publishing in the admission department and has delved in the spoken word with several appearances at Zane's Endeavors Writers Block in Baltimore, MD. Currently a high school educator with a B.A in English and a Masters, is also pursuing her Doctorate. She Presently lives in Maryland, where she co-founded Eve's Literary Services and is working on several literary projects.


A.C. Arthur

Artist C. Arthur was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she currently resides with her husband and three children. An active imagination and a love for reading encouraged her to begin writing in high school and she hasn’t stopped since.

Her debut novel ‘Object of His Desire’ was written almost six years ago when a picture of an Italian villa sparked the idea of an African-American/Italian hero. Determined to bring a new edge to romance, she continues to develop intriguing plots, racy characters and fresh dialogue—thus keeping the readers on their toes!
