Women’s Temple, In Her Name is a weekly gathering of women. The Temple is a Sacred Place for worship and it is also the part of the loom which holds the cloth to the proper width in the weaving process. Women’s Temple is a Sacred space for women to gather together in the name of the Divine Feminine while we revere and weave Her throughout our lives, keeping ourselves securely held on Her Loom.
For many years women have been seeking to understand and find alternatives to religious institutions that not only exclude them from the image of the Divine, but denigrate the female in their sacred texts. They are asking, "Where is God the Mother?" Where are the texts and practices and prayers that affirm the inter- relatedness of all beings, our Mother Earth, women and their spiritual power and contributions? Over the past 30 years, the Women’s Spirituality movement has emerged in response to these questions. Women’s Spirituality is a practice of reverence for the Earth and Her cycles as visible manifestations of the ineffable Source of life and Her ever-renewing creation. Women’s Spirituality honors women’s bodies as representative of the Divine Mother in their capacity to birth and create and affirms women as created in the image of the Divine.
All women are welcome to Temple Services.
We will meet in Sacred Space from 10:30 to 11:30 for readings, silent meditation and sharing. Tea and social time, 11:30 to noon. Suggested weekly donation $5. No woman will be turned away for financial reasons.
