Rufus and Mary were married 29 Aug 1907 and returned the marriage license to the County courthouse for recording. They never returned to pick up the license. Hunt County decided to purge all of their old records sometime in the 1980's. Willie Ray Northcutt went to the courthouse when he found out they were dumping the old records and literally went through the trash to see if he could find any of the old family records. He found the original marriage license in the trash and brought it to Arkansas to give to my Dad.
