Braxton Peters has been teaching
voice for over twenty-five years. He holds a Bachelors of Music in Theory
and Composition and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas
Christian University. Braxton studied voice with Todd Duncan, the original
Porgy in Gershwin's opera "Porgy and Bess".
He sung leading roles in both opera and musical theater including "La Boheme," "La Traviata," "The Crucible," "Sweeny Todd," "Man of La Mancha," and "My Fair Lady." He has performed with the Virginia Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Baltimore Opera, Annapolis Opera and Chesapeake Opera companies. He has performed numerous oratorios in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area including such works as the Brahms' Requiem, Haydn's Creation, Walton's Belshazzar's Feast and the Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony. Mr. Peters is currently the in-house stage director of The Annapolis Opera Company and he is baritone soloist with the Emmauel Episcopal Church of Baltimore. Mr. Peters also teaches voice at Essex Community College and the College of Notre Dame. |
