The Military truck is an AM General 1971 Deuce and a Half 6x6. The deuce (M35A2 government designation) has a multi-fuel turbo-charged engine. Multi-fuel means it can burn any hydrocarbon fuel from regular gas to diesel.
We belong to the Puget Sound Military Vehicle Collectors Club (PSMVCC) where we drive in parades and other club events.

The M35A2 Cargo Truck was designed for the US Armed Forces in the 1950s and used through the early 1990s. Many variants have emerged, built by REO, Curtiss-Wright, Studebaker, Kaiser-Jeep and AM General. The M35A2 has been manufactured in greater numbers than any other military truck in the world. It has seen various updates, including turbo-diesel engines, air-assisted brakes, seat belts, better lights, etc. The M35A2 is primarily used to haul troops and cargo. Some are setup as maintenance vehicles with tools and parts carried in the cargo area, and a winch mounted on the front. Some are configured for supply or communications. The "deuce" has a capacity of 5000 pounds of cargo, along with a 6000 pound trailer load.
The manuals for the deuce and the M-44 series, are numbered TM
9-2320-209-xx, where the last two digits indicate the type of manual such as 10
for Operators Manual, 20 for Organizational Maintenance, and so forth according
to the Army standard. An exception is the Lube Order, LO9-2320-209-12-1. All
together there are dozens of multi-volume manuals for the series of trucks.
