The Hoghton American Association is the American friends' organization of Hoghton Tower, Hoghton, Lancashire. It provides an opportunity for Ho[u]ghtons in America, whatever their spelling or descent, to support the work of the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust and enjoy the company of the wider Hoghton family. The Chairman of the Association is Sir Bernard de Hoghton, Baronet, Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire.
Membership dues for the Association ($25 for each of the years 2005 and 2006) go towards support of the Preservation Trust and administrative expenses of the HAA; members receive the quarterly newsletter, Hoghton American Association Journal, edited by Mr. Allan N. Houghton, a "Starter Pack" (including the current pictorial guidebook), and an annual gift from the Tower.
It is also possible to make contributions to the Trust that will be tax-deductible in the US. For details, see the page on giving to the Trust.
For further information about membership, please see the list of Regional Coordinators and the note to members from Sir Bernard.
