Welcome

Hello and welcome to my page.  I know there isn't a lot to look at but this site is mostly here to help out those who want to convert their DVD collection to their computer and, going further, to a format where they can watch it on a hand held system.  As of right now  PSP is the only method I've tried.  I'm sure as this world gets better in terms of new technology, more and more formats will be supported, then again maybe more and more formats will appear.  Anyways, this site basically helps you turn your Anime DVD into AVI in Japanese language and have static subtitles from the DVD. In turn, you will be able to turn your AVI into mpeg-4 for your PSP using progras like 3GP or PSP Video 9.

This site is not meant to create video files for distribution and I am strictly against that so please don't ask me anything that may get anyone in trouble, including me.  As you can see I have my own anime collection and will still continue to buy them to support the companies I love. On top of that, all of these programs DO NOT belong to me so I take no credit in these programs. I'm merely here to show you my way of doing it. Please read the updated below to see my progress on this.  It's pretty much completed in terms of basic how-to. There's enough info to get you the basics, everything from there on is up to you.

Thanks again for visiting my site.

Updates:

9/06/07

・   Man it's been a while since I've updated this. Not a whole lot going on I guess.

・   Changed the music of the page, got tired of listening to the other one. It's from IOSYS - Touhou Otome Bayashi and the song is namedBorder of death.

・   Melty Blood: Act Cadenza came out not too long ago. Got my hands on the special edition which came with the soundtrack. Finally have the song to one of the stage I liked. Woo!

・   Also finally joined the "custom" firmware deal for my PSP. Only reason I wanted to do it was for the GPS feature. Got that going and now it is working. Was a just a project so ya...

・   In the progress of sorta re-making this site so a lot of stuff is going to be re-edited to what I am using now, mostly editing out the DivX stuff since I don't use it anymore. Using another program instead of Microsoft Frontpage since that program has been pissing me off. Also going to do a different subtitling demo. Haven't decided on which anime to use.

・   Hmm... what's new... I built my Quad Core system :o

    ・    Q6600 2.4 GHz Kentfield Quad Core

    ・    Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (rev 2.0) Motherboard

・    Sapphire X1950XT ATI Video Card

    ・    2x1gb G.Skill DDR800

・    Western Digital 400Gb SATA drive.

・    Sound Blaster Live Value (Like the last mother board, the on board soundcard supports kind of blows).

・   Yes the sound card is ancient but I don't know why anyone would care about or can tell the difference between this one and the highest end one out there, the Sound Blaster X-FI or whatever the hell it is.  That ancient card has awsome software support and I'm sticking with it!

・    I got a PS3 not too long ago and am greatly using that as a media center.  I even converted a lot of my anime so that it will play it on that system.  If fact I have like two external 40 gig hard drives (formatted to 32gig due to FAT32) connected to it full of anime on top of the anime that's on the PS3's hard drive.  That's like 300+ videos right there.  I used Red Kawa's PS3Video9 to make them.  Took forever to convert them, like a week + of straight encoding at 25 mins a video?  Didn't do it at home though lol.

・   If I haven't mentioned it already, I got a WII sometime December and alsotried to do some video encoding for that but that ended real quick.  The biggest reason was because an anime episode ended up being 500 megs when the original was only 180megs.  It's because the only supported format was was motion JPEG which is a JPEG version of animated GIF with sound.  Uncompressed sound, which made that bigger as well.  So now that 2GB flash SD card is useless on the WII =/  I'm just using that now to transfer stuff from one place to another.  I might end up using it as a temp storage space for the PS3 since it has a slot for that card.

・   Working on archiving my old postings, I'm sure no one cares what happened on 05 and maybe 06 so I'll just move those elsewhere.

・   Melty Blood News.  A demo of Melty Blood Act Cadenza Version B (Through the looking-glass Northern Light Transparently), based on the Arcade version, has been released for the PC. Seems like they may actually follow through and make a fully functional game as the other characters are there but just unselectable.  When?  I don't know, their news site is pretty outdated and it hasn't been updated since December of last year.  The demo has two playable characters, Len and White Len fighting on White Len's stage.  White Len has been reworked and a lot of moves have been added.  I can't wait til it comes out so I can buy it.  YES! BUY IT.  I've bought the other ones to support them!

・   Happy new year and blah blah blah.

・   Updated my anime listing... sheesh I have enough of them sitting outside the bookshelf to fill up another half of the same type of bookshelf!

・    I haven't been keeping up or done any ripping in a while due to work and such but I found out that Xilisoft made a program to convert your DVD to MP4 format.  I decided to test it out.  While I do like it there was one, or maybe three things that I didn't like about it.  First is the price.  $50? You might as well get the DVD Ripper Platinum for the same price and this will do DVD do almost every other device.  Second, while it does indeed do subtitles too, it isn't perfect.  You'll quite often have subtitles show up  and immediately disappear and other times it'll stay on for the correct length.  This can get really annoying for those who don't understand Japanese in the first place.  So far, I've only tested it on three different anime, Full Metal Alchemist The movie, Najica Blitz Tactics DVD1, and Please Teacher.  Only Please Teacher worked fine, or at least the first 10 minutes seems to be ok.  Three, if you've been reading this site, you will know that there are two types of setup on DVDs.  This program doesn't work too well with what I call the Full Sequential setup.  So if you have a DVD, all your episodes might end up as one big file instead of a file per episode.  Good program, just need a little bit of work.
