Nutters MISGA year end outing held at the Heritage Golf Course

On Tuesday, November 3rd, Nutters MISGA held their year end golf outing at the Heritage Golf Course in Bridgeville, DE. Those Nutters players who played at least 9 home MISGA events were invited to play at the Heritage.  Click on photos of the event to see pictures.

Division 5 holds ABCD Qualifier at Eastern Shore Y & CC on June 11th

Many of Nutters Misga members participated in the Division 5 ABCD Qualifier on June 11th.  For pictures of the winners Click on photos to see the winners.

 

May 5, 2009 Nutters has their 2 Man Best Ball Tournament

It was a mild overcast day when 17 two man teams competed to see who would go to the Division 5 Two Man Best Ball Qualifier to be held on June 17th at Deer Run Golf Course.

1st place was Jim Jackson and Jim Young with the win using a match of cards 59

2nd place went to Stan Mathews and Bill Lord with a 59

3rd place went to Bill Wheatley and Tom Miffleton with a 60

4th place went to Jack Ward and Jim Doyle with a 62

5th place went to Ron Dukes and Walter Dukes with a 62

6th place went to Russ Watson and Eddie Adkins with a 62

7th place went to Ben Swift and Don Denayer with a 62

8th place went to Lloyd Wescoe and Bill Kleisch with a 63

9th place went to Naman Barnes and Harry White with a 63

10th place went to Gene Hayward and Barry Rayne with a 66

All of these teams qualified to go to the Division 5 2 Man Best Ball Qualifier Tournament

April 7, 2009 Nutters has their opening day ABCD Presidents Cup

It was a cold windy day this past Tuesday when Nutters Misga held their opening day ABCD Presidents Cup qualifier tournament for the Division 5 Tournament to be held on June 11th at Eastern Shore Y & CC.

In Flight A Ed Adkins was 1st net with 70, John Tamasi was 2nd net with 71 and Bill Wheatley was 3rd net with 72

In Flight B Tom Miffleton was 1st net wit79, Bill Hamblin was 2nd net with a 75 and Jack Ward was 3rd net with a 78

In Flight C Ron Dukes was 1st net with 72, Bill Lord was 2nd net with 75 and Larry Dukes was 3rd net with 78

In Flight D Jim Doyle was 1st net with 68, Bob Townsend was 2nd net with 72 and Jim Young was 3rd net with 74

Closest to the pin on hole 5 was Bill Lord with a distance of  8' 2"

Closest to the pin on hole 14 was Jim Weeg with a distance of 6' 6"

February 17, 2009 Nutters MISGA Summer Schedule is posted

The Nutters Misga Summer schedule for 2009 is now available online.  Any changes will be posted in the clubhouse. There will be no more than 2 outings each week.  There will be 18 home outings with 9 inner club outings including the Div qualifier for ABCD, 2 man Best Ball and the MISGA Club Championship.

 

October 23rd was the year end outing at Bayside Golf Club at Fenwick Island

It was cold and windy at the Bayside links on Thursday, Oct 23rd when the foursome of Ben Swift, Tom Miffleton, Jim Young and Barry Rayne had a net two best ball score of 113 to take 1st place at our year end outing. Bill Hamblin, Gene Hayward and Tom Hayman with a Blind took 2nd with a net of 116. Third place with a net score of 121 went to Bill Kleisch, Bob Townsend and Don Gatton with a Blind.  In Fourth place, getting their money back was the team of Russ Watson, Bruce Bounds, Rick Bisker and George Mcelwain with a net score of 126.  Click photo to see the group photo.

 

October 21st the 2008-2009 WISGA is now available

The 2008-2009 WISGA schedule is now  available on the web or at your local club house.

 

October 21st, 2008 Nutter held their MISGA Club Championship

Thirty Nutters Misga Players participated in the Misga Championship on Tuesday, October 21st.  new member Doug Wilhite won the net with a 65 and Rich Hagel won the low gross with a 78.  Click on results for a list of winners.

May 6th, 2008 Nutters Misga held their 2 Man Best Ball Qualifier Tournament

Nutters Crossing MISGA held their Two Man One Best Ball Qualifier Tournament on Tuesday, May 6th.  Fourteen teams participated to determine which teams would move on to the Division 5 2MBB Qualifier Tournament being held at Ocean City on June 10th. The top 8 teams from Division 5 will play in the State 2MBB Tournament being held at Ocean Pines on August14th.

Rich Hagel and Woody Disharoon captured 1st place with a team net of 54.

Bill Lord and Jim Doyle won 2nd net with 58.

Ed Adkins and Jim Weeg placed 3rd net also with 58.

Ted Evans and Bill Wheatley placed 4th with a net 60.

Jim Young and Jim Jackson placed 5th with a net 61.

Don Denayer and Gene Hayward placed 6th with a net 62.

Paul Phillips and Kirk Banks placed 7th with a net 63.

Bruce Bounds and Tom Hayman placed 8th with a net 63.

Russ Watson and Ben Swift placed 9th with a net 63.

Bob Townsend and Dick Widman placed 10th with a net 63.

April 8, 2008 Nutters Misga held their opening day ABCD Presidents Cup Tournament

Nutters Crossing MISGA started their 2008 summer season on Tuesday, April 8th by holding their qualifier tournament for playing in the MISGA ABCD Division 5 Tournament which will be held at Green Hill CC on June 12th.  Misga players from the Beach Club, Deer Run, Eastern Shore, Elks, Great Hope, Green Hill, Ocean Pines and Ocean City will also compete in the Division 5 Tournament.  The winners at Green Hill will move on to play in the state tournament at Piney Branch CC on August 4th.  Click here for pictures of the foursomes.

In the 1st flight, Ed Adkins won 1st gross with 83 and Paul Phillips was 1st net with a 70.

In the 2nd flight, Jim Weeg won 1st gross with 89 and Tom Wade was 1st net with a 76.

In the 3rd flight, Jim Jackson won 1st gross with 91 and Jim Young was 1st net with a 70. 

In the 4th flight, Jim Doyle won 1st gross with 90 and Gene Hayward was 1st net with a 78.

February 2, 2008 Nutters MISGA Summer Schedule is posted

The Nutters Misga Summer schedule for 2008 is now available.  Any changes will be posted in the clubhouse. Easton Club, Bear Trap Dunes and Beach Club are new to our schedule this year.  

October 23, 2007 Nutters Misga held their 2007 Club Championship

On Tuesday, October 23rd Nutters Misga held their annual Club Championship with 33 members participating.  Tommy Johnson was the low gross winner with a 77. Jim Weeg was the overall  Club Championship with a net of 66. Bruce Bounds took 2nd net with a 67. The winners list can be seen by clicking 2007 Club Championship. Jon Wharton was closest to the pin on Hole #5 at 2' 1". Teddy Evans was closest to the pin on Hole # 14 at 9' 9 1/2"  . Click here for photos.

November 4, 2007 has been picked for the year end dinner

Sunday, November 4th has been picked to hold the year end dinner at Chef Fred's.  The sign up sheet has been posted on the bulletin board, so let us know if you will be going by signing up.  There will not be any music or dancing at this dinner. The dinner is free to those who have played 10 home Misgas. See the eligible list. Still one outing to go to get your 10 required outings.

October 3, 2007  revised WISGA Schedule for 2007-2008 is now available

The 2007-2008 WISGA Schedule (revised) is now available in the club house and on the website.  We have a few new courses to play this year.  Bear Trap Dunes and Glen Riddle are on this years schedule.

September 20, 2007 was the end of the year outing for the Nutters Misga Group

Thirty-four members and the club pro joined together at Heritage Shores Golf Club for the end of the year outing. The team of Ed Adkins, Jim Weeg, Jim Jackson and Bob Layton scored a two best ball net of 121 to win the outing. (Click for photos)

August 29th, 2007 was the date of the State MISGA ABCD Tournament

Teddy Evans from Nutters was the only local member to place in the State MISGA ABCD Tournament at Tantallon Country Club.  Ted was 3rd net in the A flight.

August 20, 2007    End of Year Outing at Heritage Shores Golf Club announced

Members that have played at least 10 home outings will be treated to a free round at Heritage Shores Golf Club.  You can check on the bulletin board at the club house or select the eligible list to see if you qualify for the free outing.  There are still plenty of home outings to play if you need a few more to qualify.      The outing will be held on Thursday, September 20th.

 

August 8th, 2007 State Two Man Best Ball Tournament was played

Our local members, Bill Lord and Stan Matthews placed 12th in the MISGA State Two Man Best Ball Tournament held at Shawnee CC in Milford, Delaware.

May 29, 2007    Hole in One 

The Nutters Crossing MISGA had a four man two best ball outing on Tuesday, May 29th at Nutters. Tom Wade had his first hole in one on the par 3, 138 yard,  #14 hole at Nutters using his 8 iron.  Hole #14 was one of the closest to the pin holes and Ed Neff thought he was going to  get the closest to the pin at 6 feet 5 inches until Tom aced the hole while the rest of his foursome of Bill Kleisch, Jim Weeg and Ed Yesko watched.  Tom collected $233 for his $1 investment on hole 14.
 
The team of Woody Disharoon, Tom Miffleton, Don Gatton, and Bob Townsend won the two best ball net1st place with a 107.  Ed Adkins, Rich Hagel, Jack Meister, and Ed Neff won 2nd place with 110 and Paul Phillips, Dave Melocik, Jim Young and Ed Hayes won 3rd place with 115.
 
Bruce Bounds won the closest to the pin on hole #5 with a distance of 6 feet 5 inches.  

May 1, 2007    Two Man Best Ball Division 5 Qualifier

On Tuesday, May 1st, the Nutters Crossing MISGA group held their Two Man Best Ball Tournament to see who would participate in the Division 5 MISGA Qualifier Tournament at Ocean Pines.  The best 9 teams will move on to the Ocean Pines Tournament which will be held on June 7th.

The team of Ed Hayes and Nelson Malone was 1st place with a net 54.

The team of Tom Johnson and Bill Wagner was 2nd place with a net 58.

The team of Stan Matthews and Bill Lord was 3rd place with a net 59.

The team of Bill Wheatley and Ed Adkins was 4th place with a net 61.

The team of Marv Phillips and Tom Hayman was 5th place with a net 62.

The team of Buck Guth and Jim Young was 6th place with a net 63.

The team of Ed Neff and Leo Vilkas was 7th place with a net of 63.

The team of Tom Miffleton and Barry Rayne was 8th place with a net of 63.

The team of Jon Wharton and Rich Hagel was 9th with a net of 64.

The team of Paul Phillips and Kirk Banks was 10th with a net of 64.

 

April 3, 2007 Presidents Cup ABCD Division 5 Qualifier

On Tuesday, April 3rd, the Nutters Crossing MISGA group held  their first summer outing of the year.  Forty-four senior golfers participated in the Nutters MISGA ABCD Presidents Cup Tournament where the best 18 players will go on to participate in the Division 5 Qualifying Tournament which will be held at the Bay Club on June 11th.
 
The A flight 1st low gross was Tommy Johnson with a 79 and Buck Guth was 2nd low gross with 81
The A flight 1st low net was Woody Disharoon with a 68 and Paul Phillips was 2nd low net with 70
 
The B flight 1st low gross was Tom Mifflton by match of cards with a 85 and Bill Gore was 2nd low gross with 85
The B flight 1st low net was Rich Hagel with 71 and Bruce Bounds was 2nd low net with 72
 
The C flight 1st low gross was Jim Doyle with 89 and Sam Pope was 2nd low gross with 92
The C flight 1st low net was Jim Jackson with a 65 and Nelson Malone was 2nd net with 72
 
The D flight 1st low gross was Bob Layton with 102 and Bob Townsend was 2nd low gross with 106
The D flight 1st low net was Joe Dukehart with a 74 and Bob Dashiell was 2nd low net with 75
 
Jim Jackson was closest to the hole on the #14 par 3 at a distance of 24 feet 8 inches.  Buck Guth was closest to the pin on the par3 # 5 with a distance of 10 feet 7 inches.

November 9, 2006

The Winter Interclub Shore Golf Associates (WISGA) held their weekly tournament at Green Hill Y & CC on Thursday, November 9th.  Fred Althaus, from Green Hill, used his Cobra hybrid club on the #4,  148 yard par three to make his third lifetime hole in one. Playing partners Bill Smith and Ed Hayes watched as Fred's ball landed on the green, bounced a few times and then rolled into the hole.
 
Leo Vilkas of Nutters Crossing had closest to the pin on the 127 yard, #11 par 3 with a 1"10" shot.
 
The foursome of Rich Hagel, Ed Long, Jim Doyle and T Cardacci won the 1st net prize for the two man best ball with preferred drive with a 112 and the foursome of Stan Matthews, Dick Widman, H Jarmon and P Pfilet won the 1st gross prize with a 12 over 156 score.  

November 7, 2006

Tuesday, November 7th, Nutters MISGA group had their year end outing at Baywood Golf Club. The foursome of Paul Phillips, Dave Melocik, Jim Doyle and Ed Yesko won 1st net with a team score of 130.  The 2nd net winners were Bill Wheatley, Chuck Bowie, Bud Parr and Bob Layton.  Coming in at 3rd net was the team of Bill Lord, Harry White, Glen Sheats and Ed Neff.  Bill Lord had closest to the hole at 24' 11".  The question is, did he make the putt?

November 2, 2006

Thursday, November 2nd, the lower shore senior golfers start the winter season at Nutters Crossing.  The WISGA group will have a shotgun starts at 9:30 am using a preferred drive and then a two man best ball score for each team.  

October 24, 2006

On Tuesday, October 24th Nutters Crossing MISGA held their annual MISGA Golf Championship.  There was breakfast and a club meeting before the event where Paul Phillips was elected as Nutters Crossing Club Rep for next year.  Leo Welch held this office for many good years until retiring this year.

 
Ed Adkins shot an 82 and won the 1st place gross.  Tom Miffleton won 1st place net with a 65, Marv Phillips was 2nd net by match of cards with a 68 and Bruce Bounds was 3rd net with a 68.
 
Bill Lord won closest to the hole on the 119 yard  #5 par 3 and Russ Watson was closest to the hole on the 135 yard #14 par 3.
