acting net control station for the Olympia Amateur Radio Society weekly
information net. The purpose of this net is to informally gather the
club, to
disseminate ham related information, to get on the air and chat, and
have a good
time. All Radio Amateurs are invited to participate in this net. You do
not
need to be a member of OARS to check in to the net. This net operates
at 7:30
PM each Tuesday evening on the clubs three inter-linked repeaters,
transmitting
on 147.36+, 224.46- and 441.4+ MHZ all with a tone of 103.5 Hz and
using the
callsign NT7H. The net will yield the frequency to emergency or
priority
traffic at any time.
The Olympia
Amateur Radio Society is an ARRL special services club, offering HAM
licensing
classes, a packet radio BBS, yearly field day operations, and other Ham
related
activities. Our club is associated with the Thurston County ARES/RACES
organization which assists in emergency communication support at
various
locations around the county and which has its weekly net on these same
frequencies at 7 PM each Tuesday. The OARS Club provides public service
communication support for road rallyes, the Capitol City Marathon, the
Lakefair
Parade and other local events
Regular club
meetings occur the fourth Wednesday of each month at the South Bay Fire Station, 3506 Shincke Road
SE, at 7 PM.
