1. You're making a perpendicular offset with a 12 inch 90° weld elbow and a weld 45. What is the minimum offset dimension you can make with this set up?
2. You need to make a 6 inch perpendicular offset with 12 " weld pipe. What is the angle of the offset using a fitting to fitting layout?
3. Using the angle of the offset found in question number 2, calculate the following fitting layout dimensions.
4. After installing a 6" 400' long steam line, you realize that the engineer overlooked designing an expansion loop. The 6" steel line carries steam at 300° and was installed at an average temperature of 60°. What is the amount of expansion for the line in inches, and what are the Height & Width dimensions for the expansion loop?
5. A 150', 10" riser to a storage tank needs to be drained. The liquid in the riser is to be saved how many gallons of liquid are in the riser?
6. Calculate the take off of an 8" 32.72° fitting, Face to Center.
7. A large hydronic system contains 3,000 gallons. It originally was freeze protected with a 40% glycol solution. During an annual inspecton you find the solution at 20 %. How many gallons of the 20% solution must be drained and replaced with 100% glycol to return it to the original 40% solution?
8. What is the travel center to center, end to end, and the advance center to center dimensions of a 45° rolling offset that uses 4" weld pipe? The set is 15.375" and the roll is 15.375"
9. What is the center-line difference of a 10" x 6" eccentric weld reducer?
10. You need to find the following dimensions for a parallel offset using 8" weld pipe. The offset measures 102" center to center with a 62" face to face fixed run or advance. Find:
