Apparently Ofra Haza wasn’t a contestant in the pageant (that wouldn’t really be fair to the other women now, would it).  This performance was on March 2nd, 1993, only a few days after the Grammy awards night, in which Ofra was nominated, but did not win. Her manager, Bezalel Aloni, did not want Ofra to perform in the beauty pagent, because he thought it was a loss of momentum, but Ofra decided to perform anyway * (and we’re glad she did, it’s a great performance!).
