Screen Resolution is the number of pixels or dots displayed on your screen. Common resolutions are 640 wide x 480 high, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1600 x 1200, etc. The higher the resolution, the more quality "BUT" the smaller the text, icons, and everything else appear. A picture or web page designed to be displayed at 1024 x 768 will be displayed in its entirety on a screen set at that resolution. If the screen is set to 800 x 600 or less, the page will "run off the edges" and scrollbars will appear to allow viewing the hidden parts. This site is designed for 1024 x 768, a decent resolution for a 19" monitor and acceptable on a 17" monitor. The following instructions will show you how to change your resolution in Windows. (Sorry, if you're on a Mac you're on your own)
1. Right click on the desktop to display the drop down menu and left click on Properties.

2. The Display Properties window will appear. Select the Settings tab. Move the Screen Area slider until it displays 1024 x 768. Click OK. You should also check the Colors setting, it should be true color or high color, not 16 or 256. Changing the colors may require a reboot to display correctly.

3. You will see the the resizing information window, click OK, the screen will go black and reappear resized.

4. You will see the confirmation window, click yes. If you don't the screen will go black and return to the original size.

You may return to the original resolution at any time by repeating the process.
