Exclusive: Gina Tognoni Returns to One Life to Live

The Young and the Restless wanted her. So did The Bold and the Beautiful. But Gina Tognoni—fresh from her gig as Dinah on the cancelled Guiding Light—has chosen to return home to Llanview. The two-time Emmy winner will reprise her role as One Life to Live’s Kelly Cramer—whom she played from 1995 to 2002 —but she won’t be reporting for work until January. Kathy Brier (Marcie), Chris Stack (Michael) will make a brief return. Brier is back Nov. 6. Stack is back Nov. 12.  

Will Chase (Dr. Nance): Chase plays a colleague of Michael McBain's at Seattle Grace Hospital and first airs Nov. 11.  The role is recurring.

David Gregory (Ford): David's TV producer will return in December.

Ann Hamilton returns on Nov. 3rd as Rex’s Aunt Corrine, when she asks him to pay her a visit at her home, in Michigan .

Roscoe Born's Mitch is back in November and will cause trouble for Viki's brood. He will rock the Buchanan clan this fall, although it is not clear whether Mitch is connected to Jessica's stalker or Rex's paternity.

Kelley Massal has been cast as Matthew's classmate, Danielle. 

Daniel Manche (J.J. Snyder, ATWT) has been cast as Tom, another one of Matthew’s classmates, beginning Thursday, October 22.  The 16-year-old actor has also appeared on “Guiding Light,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Black Donnellys,” and “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” 

Lea DeLaria returns as Madame Delphina on Thursday, October 14th, when the physic warns Jessica and Brody that Nash’s spirit isn’t finished with Jess just yet, and that a killer will strike again.

Christine Jones makes a return as one of Asa’s ex-wives, Pamela Stuart on Monday, October 19. Pamela was Jared’s accomplice last year when he pretended to be a Buchanan.

Laura Koffman (now going by her maiden name Bonarrigo), is reprising her role as Dorian's daughter, Cassie Carpenter, when she returns to Llanview for a visit. According to soapoperanetwork.com, Bonarrigo was seen on the set of the soap last week filming two episodes that will air sometime this fall. 

Robert Krimmer will reprise his role as Rev. Andrew Carpenter in early November.

Dan Gauthier reprises his role of Kevin Buchanan Tuesday, October 20.  According to Gauthier’s official website, the actor is back for only three episodes. 

Tonye Patano and Frankie Faison have been cast as Phylicia and Richard Evans, parents of Shaun, Destiny and Greg beginning September 10th.  Tonye is best known for playing drug-dealing maven Heylia James on the first three seasons of "Weeds."  TV and movie credits include "Eli Stone," and "The Savages."  Frankie is best known as the asylum employee who looks out for Clarice Starling in "The Silence of the Lambs"; and as police commissioner Ervin Burrell on HBO's "The Wire."

Michael Lowry, best known for playing "All My Chidren's" Dr. Jake Martin from 1997-2000, has been cast in the recurring role of Ross Rayburn, a character from the past (Shawn Christian (Daniel, DAYS) originated the role).  Lowry also played Les on ATWT from 2004-2005, and Dr. Hillman on B&B in 2006. His first airdate is Friday, August 28.  SID reports that while Lowry was brought on initially for a three month run, he may remain on the show even longer. 


Broadway actor Nicholas Rodriguez (Tarzan) has been cast as Nick on OLTL. His character will come between former lovers Oliver Fish (Scott Evans) and Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell), when he and Kyle go out on a date. His first airdate is August 14.

Saundra Santiago (OLTL's Isobella, 2004; Carmen Santos, GL) replaced Patricia Mauceri as Cristian's mother, Carlotta Vega in August 2009. Setside sources say that Mauceri, who has played Carlotta since 1995, objected to Carlotta's positive attitude about homosexuality, saying it conflicted with her personal beliefs."  The role is expected to remain recurring. 
 
 

Matt Walton (Elijah Clarke): Elijah is a lawyer who will play into Tea's big secret. He will also be involved with the Buchanan's. First airs August 7.  Walton is on recurring status and a OLTL rep says he has no end date. It will be revealed that Elijah and Ross are in cahoots together.

Amanda Setton, (Penelope Shafai, "Gossip Girl,") has been cast in the contract role of Kimberly Andrews." Setton, has also guest starred in episodes of "Sex and the City," "All the World's a Stage," and the film "What Happens in Vegas."  Setton made her debut on OLTL in August.

Terrell Tilford has been cast in the contract role of Dr. Greg Evans beginning June 23. Tilford played David Grant on GL from 1998 to 2001, and also played Dr. Carrington on DOOL for several episodes in 2008.




Going

 

SoapOperaNetwork.com is reporting that John Brotherton has been let go by OLTL in the role of Jared Banks after two years on the soap. Brotherton is expected to air into the fall.

Kathy Brier (Marcie), Chris Stack (Michael) have been let go. Their last air dates were in June 2009.


 

Contract Status & Renewals

 

Tuc Watkins is not leaving anytime soon. He is being written in the November sweeps, and David may stay even longer beyond that. He will be involved in Vicki and Dorian's mayoral campaign.

Emmy winner Robin Strasser (Dorian) revealed that she has accepted ABC's contract offer to continue her role as Dorian on OLTL.

Jerry verDorn (Clint) remains on contract.

Florencia Lozano (Tea Delgado) is here to stay. A show rep says there's still plenty of story for Tea.

Brett Claywell (Kyle): The One Tree Hill alum began playing a Llanview police officer in early January. Though his debut came and went, a show rep says Kyle is here to stay and we'll see more of him soon.

Eddie Alderson (Matthew Buchanan) recently signed a long-term contract with OLTL.   The young actor began playing Matthew in 2001.
