produces
output bit sequences that are intended to be indistinguishable from "true"
randomness. Generally this requires someone to devise a test that can find
a defect in ORB's output sequences with probability greater than 50%. Nobody
has!
Output bit sequences can be viewed as images with ones shown as white
pixels and zeros shown as black pixels. Here is one such image.

Images for good random generators all look about the same and about
like this. Random bit sequences can also be converted to sounds, and heard
over good speakers. Here is a sound clip.
Again, the sound is "white" like all other good random generators.
Anybody interested in testing ORB bit sequences for defects can contact
APA Consulting for the data. Chopping the first 44 bytes of the .wav file
above will provide a first data file. APA Consulting is not aware of any
successful tests while ORB chips have been in service since early 1999.
