This is our 1989 Nissan 300ZX. It was originally
bought as a project car, to restore and show. Since reality has set
in, we are no longer planning on restoring the car to show quality.
It is being built to be a reliable, mechanically-sound driver's car.
I currently has about 163k miles.
It comes with a 3.0L 18 valve SOHC V6. This is the
non-turbo model, and it makes 165HP at 5300rpm and 186ft*lbs of torque at
4000rpm. For the time, this was a high-tech car. It came with
automatic climate control with air conditioning, a tape player with
10-band equalizer, power windows, power door locks, a power seat,
electronic port fuel-injection. Also, 165HP in the 80s from a V6 is
quite a bit of horsepower.
Several parts have been replaced, including the timing
belt, water pump, all the fluids, clutch and transmission, and the shocks
and struts.
