Got up at 7:00 AM for breakfast, worth the money. A few people left on
the 9:00 AM ferry or just walked out this morning and there was only 6
of us left. We didn't do too much during the day, just read magazines
and ate. We did play a board game called "True Colors". We played it
with Chacoman and the couple. It was a silly game to play because we
had to guess who we think was the most likely to blink, but we barely
knew each other. We all got addicted to it and played right up until we
had to get ready for the ferry. (Also when we were there we ran into
and odd older couple who were surprised they had not seen us along the
way even though we had told them we started after they did.) So all 6 of
us got on the ferry at 4:00 PM to get back on the trail.
As we were getting off the ferry we ran into a family getting on the
ferry to go back to the Vermillion Valley Resort. It was a mom and dad
with a 10 year old girl! The girl was a twig, but carried her own pack
with and ice axe.
We all hit the trail and soon spreaded out. It was a pleasant cool
evening but the mosquitoes attached whenever we stopped. We wanted to
just get short of Silver Pass. So about 2 miles away from it we stopped
and waited for the couple or Chacoman. We waited for close to an hour
total and then decided to walk back to them because we didn't think we
would see them again.
Turned out Solang got really sick just as they started to hike. They
were happy we stopped and waited for them. Miah found the spot where he
had camped 3 years before so we all crashed there. We had a crappy
dinner, (too many spices) but good company. The mosquitoes went crazy at
night because it did not get cool enough. Miah and I got bites on the
part of our cheeks that were exposed so we ended up putting bandanas
over our faces.
