Dues and Fund Raisers

Yearly dues for each cub scout in PACK 477 are: $55.00 ($65.00 if you subscribe to Boys' Life).  The dues help pay for pack and den activities. A small portion of the dues goes to support our scouting council (Northern Stars Boy Scout Council).   Pinewood Derby kits are provided from the dues.  (There is, however, an entry fee to help defray the cost of track rental). Awards and advancement recognitions are covered by the dues.

To help minimize any financial impact, the pack has 2 fundraisers each year:

  • Popcorn Sales

  • Wreath Sales

Proceeds from these sales supplement the pack's funds.  But more importantly, funds also go directly into the camp account for each cub scout participating.  

Example:

For every wreath a cub scout sells, $5.00 is credited directly towards any future camping fees for that individual cub scout.

POLAR CAMP FEE per cub scout : $60.00
Cub scout sells 9 wreathes (9 * $5.00 credit ): $45.00

Balance to attend POLAR CAMP: $15.00

The pack doesn't try to "get rich" with the fund raisers.  We simply try to minimize the costs that each cub scout and family has to pay.

Extra camping activities (POLAR CUB CAMP, KIWANIS CAMP, TOMAHAWK CAMP, DAY CAMP, etc...) do require separate fees. Details on those fees are provided well in advance of any upcoming event.

Any uniform (clothing) expenses are not included in the dues.
