| Joseph HEDGES (1672-1732) |
There are several "Joseph Hedges" claiming to be the father of Charles Hedges, and all claim to be the Joseph who died in 1732. Primary sources (vital records) are nonexistent, and secondary sources are being evaluated. |
Stalcop, Fettiplace, Wolff, Caldwell, Weld, Glanfield, Fenwick |
| Hannahritta WATERMAN (ca 1776-1843) |
The lineage is in question only if Hannaritta Waterman is NOT the mother of Russell HENRY. A biographical sketch by James Henry's youngest son Warren at age 87 says his mother was Henrietta Jordan, and he listed his mother's maiden name as Jordan, born Ireland, on his death certificate. The only vital records located to date are the births of the first six children as listed in the Barbour Collection in Connecticut. The similarities in first name and age of the women in question has made research difficult. It should be noted that for the purposes of this database, the pedigree ancestor Russell HENRY is clear that his mother was born in Rhode Island |
Knapp, Potter, Rhodes, Paine |
| David THURSTON (1693- ) |
Parentage disputed. Alternate parents have been suggested to be John THURSTON and Hannah ??? |
Thaxter, Coffin |
| Alice PECK (1625-1689) |
Although other sources list Alice's father as William PECK, b. 1601, Savage's genealogical dictionary claims William's only daughter was Elizabeth. William's will lists his second wife and all four of his children--an Alice is not mentioned. (Vol. III, p. 384) |
