The Arianna Miles Bed & Breakfast

Located in Upper Bucks County is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast called....Arianna Miles. What a great place to stay! It has everything you could want in a weekend get-a-way; Comfy rooms, A bar, a First-Class restaurant run by an Excellent Chef, an incredibly nice Innkeeper, friendly staff. and ...It's got a few Ghosts! But first, read a little bit I "borrowed" from their site, then read about our weekend get-a-way...

A Little About the owners

Born and raised in New York City, we escaped in December ’99 to Bucks County to find a new, more peaceful and less hectic life. Arianna Miles provided both of us with the chance to live a dream.

Before becoming a professional chef in 1998, Kyle Glenn was an Auto Center Manager for Sears.  At home in the kitchen since the age of four, Kyle Glenn has an incredible ability to deliver comfort, relaxation and a sense of peace with his food. Our little restaurant provides Kyle Glenn with the perfect outlet for his art. Always using the freshest ingredients and the best local produce – Kyle Glenn is always sure to also add a healthy dose of “love” in every dish.

Pascale turned her back on corporate life when she left her career as a marketing executive. The opportunity to restore this old gem of a house and to ensure that it is always full of love and laughter is no less than a dream come true. As your getaway’s hostess, Pascale ensures that when you are here, it is like visiting the home of cherished friends.

We welcome you with open arms to this perfect little place – a place to relax, a place to reconnect to simplicity, a place to be revived.

A Little About The House

The house that is now known as the Arianna Miles was built circa 1749 and nestled on 5 wooded acres in Upper Bucks County. The inn was a stagecoach stop for travelers making the 60 mile trek between The Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia.

On June 15th 1784, Micheal Stoneback humbly petitioned the Court at Newtown, PA to be recommended to the “Honorable Executive Council
for Lysence” to keep a House of Public Entertainment for travelers on Old Bethlehem Road. The petition states that, "in the Fall and Spring said road is exceeding bad which puts a number of travelers under the necessity of stopping at his house”.  Furthermore, Stoneback’s supporters in this petition attested that, “he is well provided with hay and pasture to keep a good house of public entertainment”
Old Bethlehem Road is said to have been one of the most traveled roads in colonial Bucks County. General’s Washington and Lafayette traveled this road as they made the voyage up to Easton, PA to establish Lafayette College.

Now, on to our stay....

My wife and I (Kenny & Donna) decided to stay at the Arianna Miles for a few days...to celebrate their anniversary. This was a good choice. Pascale and Kyle are not only the owners, but they have become our friends. They do anything and everything they can to make you feel at home...in their home. Nothing made this more clear then something Kyle had said. Ya see, spicy stuff doesn't like me, and the "Curry" incident is a joke now (Ask Kyle and Pascale about that one!). Anyhoo, while at dinner, I aske the waitress about one of the items on the menu. She

wasn't sure, so she went back to ask Kyle. As I watched through the window in the door, I saw Kyle waving his arms and saying "No, no, no, that's spicy, tell him he won't like it". Now, it may not seem a big deal to any of you...but the fact that he remembered how much I don't like it and just knowing it was me that asked...made a big impression on me. These two are people that really take the time to know their customers and how to make the feel comfortable during their stay. Ok, let's look at some of the yummy stuff!

Since it IS a Bed & Breakfast, we were treated to the best dang breakfast I believe I've ever had! (Please note that these pages and comments are all of our own free will- we don't get paid or receive any special compensation for saying what we say! It's really THAT GOOD!).

My only regret is that I was unable to get a photo of our wonderful dinner we had on our first night! We had Ribs that just melted off the bone, Roasted Hen that was so good...but most of all...The Chocolate Lava Cake. Holy Crap, that was great! I suggest you go, if only for that...it will be well worth the trip!

Ok, the first breakfast was very special to me. Ya see, when I called to make the reservations, Kyle (The greatest Chef I know), asked if I wanted anything special. I asked for Banana-Stuffed French Toast.

He was excited, since it wasn't something he'd done before. That boy did some good cookin. All I can say is this...GO, Book a weekend and ask for it. The fruit was first, ain't that just a pretty plate?

Ok, next day was a little late in getting up. The night before was some good fun. There was a wedding there on Sunday, and we got to meet the Bride and Groom later that night. Let's just say that they were feeling REALLY good. The Groom insisted that we have some drinks with them...since I'm not one to turn down a man that just got married, we joined him.

Well, we ended up staying up till somewhere around 2 AM...us, the wedding party, the staff and the owners. After a lot of alcohol, some Chocolate lava cakes that popped up from nowhere, a full tutorial on all the spices that I'll probably never be able to taste AND some pretty DEEP paranormal questions....Donna and I finally made it to bed.

However, waking up to a great breakfast was worth the small hang-over I had. We sat down Strawberry Puree with a cream in the middle there, followed by Chocolate Chip pancakes, which had a funnel cake taste to them- very, very good. Some bacon on the side....man, that was some good food.

That night we had an experience with the resident ghosts! It was Monday night, no one else was in the

Inn....so we had free reign. It was getting late and Kyle & Pascale had been out that night. Donna and I grabbed some food and brought it back to  he Inn.  We sat and had a nice, quiet meal in the main

bar/dining room, then decided to go up to bed. We were only up for about 20 minutes or so, when we heard the owners return home. We heard them talking, glasses clinking together, etc. We thought they were

getting a late night snack. Truthfully, I must have been way too relaxed, because my "ghost radar" was

 just not working.

Our last breakfast was right on par with the previous two days. A cheeses omelet and diced ham that was excellent. We were the only ones in the Inn, so we got to chat for a awhile with the owners. It was then that we found out that they had actually got home BEFORE Donna and I. Pascale and Kyle were already up in their apartment by the time we had started eating dinner. After telling them what we heard, Kyle had confirmed that this is what they used to hear quite often when they first moved in.

It seems that the spirits wanted to have some fun of their own! Well, even though I missed an perfect opportunity for some activity, we did have one of the best weekends away. Our Thanks go out tot Pascale & Kyle, who went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be.

Now, if you want a great place to stay, AND a good chance to experience some paranormal activity...I suggest you drop them a line and make some reservations.
