The Dog House
This is the Mack-Daddy of Hot Dog Joints!

On an early spring roadtrip to Gettysburg, we stopped at the local Rita's to get cooled off. We sat down at some benches that belonged to the shop next door, which happened to be a little place called The Dog House. I was hungry, as always, so I picked up a menu. Holy Hot Dogs! This place has 28 "The Dog House Original" hot dogs! My favorite is the Cashtown, which has BBQ sauce, sweet mustard, bacon and cheddar cheese. If you don't see something that's exactly what you want, they have 44 toppings that you can choose from.

They don't do just dogs here. The menu also boasts Quesadillas, Chicken Sandwiches, Burgers, Subs, Wraps, Salads, Sides and Ice Cream. They cover it all! I haven't gotten past the dogs, so if you stop by and chow down...let me know how it was!

The Dog House is owned by Kathy & Davy Crockett. Kathy stays busy with the Dog House, according to Davy. Mr. Crokett hosts a morning shows on WYCR-98 radio. When I finally got a chance to talk to them (they always got busy when I finished eating!), I found them to be extremely friendly people. Even without the draw of a darn good hot dog, I'd stop in just because of friendly atmosphere.
