Date- Friday, August 12, 2005

Tammy, Karen and Greg The Freshman (PVPS), Jeff from NAPA and Kenny from PIRA.
Weather- Clear
Moon Phase- 55% Full Moon

Historical Background- Although we do have a lot of information, we are not at liberty to post it here. Those in charge of this location have asked us not to disclose the name and location of the site. Therefore, we will respect their wishes.
Reported Activity- A small, female child has been spotted on the 2nd floor of the Mansion. She has also been seen roaming the grounds outside the mansion, as well as running up and down the road that runs through the village.
Investigation Report- The majority of the team met at Jerry's house, then headed out. We arrived at the location at about 7:30 pm. Dave (PVPS) was finishing up the interviews when we pulled up. Within a few minutes, we were then given a brief rundown of the dwellings we had access to and the history of the site. The buildings in which we would have access included a Mansion, a doctor's office, an Episcopal Church, a Catholic Church, Catholic Church rectory and the company store.
First Session
The first stop was the Mansion and the Doctor's Office.
The team was split into several teams in order to cover both buildings, as well
as the many rooms in the Mansion. Kenny set up a NV Video in the "Nursery",
where the little girl has been seen. An EMF meter was placed in view of the
camera and a Motion Sensor covered the areas in question. EMF readings stayed
within normal ranges (Barely creeping over 1 mg). Temperatures were a constant
78 to 81 degrees. Kenny, Tammy and Karen then set up in a front room on the
second floor.
Jeff and Rick were set up on the 3rd floor. They monitored temperature and EMF readings.
They also set up a video camera to capture any anomalies which may have occurred in
the area the small child was reportedly seen. There are two possible EVPs, but
they will need to be reviewed before posting.
2nd Session
We all go back together and headed to the Episcopal Church. Once again we broke into teams. One team stayed inside the church, while
another walked the main road through the village. Jeff, Meredith, Eddie and
Kenny volunteered to take the walk up the road. There was a purpose for one team
walking the road, which was revealed later on at a late night dinner. There have
been reports of hearing people talking in some of the houses, which are
abandoned. Although we were not aware of it at the time, our goal was to detect
and investigate these voices if found.
We walked about half-way back (about hundred and fifty yards)
before turning to head back. Immediately, Kenny stopped, then started doing a
little dance. He had witnessed something, but was moving back and forth to
determine if the image he saw was actually a reflection of light (The image was
viewed through a night-vision scope).
Description of Experience- "As I turned to start walking back towards
the church, I raised my night vision scope to look down the road. When I looked
towards the houses on my left, I saw what looked like a hunched over figure, run
out from the side of the house to the street. As soon as it reached the street,
it disappeared. What really got me thinking was how the figure looked. It looked
as if the figure had ran under a spot light, with the top of it's head, back,
etc. being illuminated by this spot light. There were no legs. Anything that
would not be lit up by a light directly above was simply not there. Something
else to keep in mind, there was no spot light. "
The walk back was uneventful.
3rd Session
We
headed towards the Catholic Church and Rectory. Meredith, Kenny and Jeff covered the
rectory, while everyone else headed for the church. The rectory has been transformed into a gift shop,
but we were allowed to hit the 2nd floor, which is usually off limits to the public. Once
again we set up a camcorder and conducted an EVP session. We also had a chance
to discuss Kenny's experience, working out the details and debating on what it
could have been and how it could have been.
Nothing abnormal took place during our session in the
rectory.
Conclusion and Impressions
Kenny's Conclusion- Well, my sighting gave me something to think about. That was a first for that type of event. Although it was a quiet night, my experience tells me that we need to go back. I'd like more time to spend in each of the buildings. I think there may be potential in the mansion, but there were just too many people in there at one time. I suggest that our next visit be with a smaller group. There were some buildings, like the Doctor's office, that I didn't get a chance to check out. Keeping in mind the conditions when the the village was active, I believe that this would be a good place to set up.
Jeff's Conclusion : I have to start off by saying that this village is truly an awesome piece of Pennsylvanian, if not American, history. If only those buildings could talk, I'm sure they'd have quite a story to tell. Unfortunately, the night we were there they decided to keep quiet. We may have hit the village on a bad night. I'd really like to return here again to give it another shot. If you've ever read stories about the mining profession, they are usually anything but glamorous. The conditions were usually very poor as were the miner's wages. The risk definitely didn't equal the reward.
Follow-up Warranted- Yes, in order to verify our findings
