History- The research is currently on the way for this site. So far, we've found that its been a hotel since 1784, one year more then the owners were aware of. It's been known by several names: The Sorrel House, The Mount Airy Hotel, The Mountain House, and perhaps the Haycock Hotel. We've uncovered a long list of Tavern/Hotel/Inn license holders from 1784 up until prohibition. We've also come across some possible leads for some of the activity that's been reported here, but much more research needs to be done. We'll be spending some more afternoons at the Bucks County Historical Society.

Report of Events- This visit was basically our Preliminary Investigation of the site. All the members spread out and took measurements of the building, reference photographs and adjustments to existing floor plans. Steve and Kenny conducted an interview with the owners, Pascale and Kyle. This took about an hour and a half.

When all was done, we split into two teams: Team 1 was Bob, Dick, Marty, Kenny and Pascale(Owner). Team 2 was Patty, Steve, Dan, Jim and Kyle(Owner). Due to the lack of time, we decide to do a quick run through of the house. Team 1 began in Room 1, while Team 2 started in room 6.

Team 2 (Room 6)- Team 2 began in this room while Kenny and Steve were still conducting the interview. Patty reported that upon entering this room, she first felt as if it was lined with dead people…wall to wall. Later while Kenny spoke with her, she said that it actually felt more like a bunch of people hiding out. During the team's investigation of this room, Patty reported problems with her digital recording device. It had started recording and then shut off. When she attempted to try another folder, it failed to operate. She had 7 files stored on the recorder from a previous investigation, and all were erased. The unusual thing to note here is that in order to erase these, one must enter the folder, then go into the file and push the erase button for three seconds per file. This must be repeated for each file to be erased, something Patty is certain she did not do. Patty also reported that at one point, she saw movement in the bathroom. She said that a dark shape came out, went back in, then came out again. It was as if it "forgot" something and went back to get it.

Team 1 (Room 1)-We began an EVP session with Bob asking the questions. During this session, Kenny notices a dark shape float over Pascale's head. The picture that was taken shows an orb about a foot above her head. The recordings were clear of any EVPs.

Team 2 (Room 5)- During the EVP session, Steve joined the investigation. Patty reported several impressions, most of which need to be verified before posting. She also caught a flash of light between Kyle and Steve, but it was too brief to get any details or a photograph. It was in this room that an EVP was obtained. Patty asked the question "Can you move something in the room?" There is a slight pause when all is silent, then there is a knock. (During a return visit, Patty and Kenny searched Room 5 for anything that would cause the same type of knock. They found that a large amour had two small handles. When the handles were lifted and dropped, the sound was identical to what was recorded.)

Team 1 (Room 5)- After a recording session and several photographs, team 1 had nothing to report.

Team 2 (Room 3)- Upon entering, Patty reported feeling extremely hot, saying that she felt like she was on fire. Patty reported hearing footsteps in the hallway and come to the door. Dan and Jim also reported feeling a presence by the door, just watching them. Although they asked it to join them, no one reported feeling the presence enter, nor were any abnormal readings taken.

Team 1 (Room 6)- Kenny noted that as soon as he entered this room, he felt like this room shouldn't have been part of the house. This is most likely due to the retaining walls on both sides of the room, as if the room had been added on at a later date, but within the same time period. Kenny sat on the bed, facing the doorway and bathroom. An EVP session was started, with Kenny asking the questions. During this time, Kenny again caught movement near Pascale, but this time it was inside the bathroom. It looked as if there was a dark shape that moved out, but then went back in. Bob mentioned that he observed an orb come part-way through the wall (between the room and the bathroom), then go back in. This was observed through his night vision scope. We listened to the recordings, without any positive results.

Team 2 (Dining Area)- Dan reported feeling as though there was someone sitting in a booth directly across from where the team was sitting. Patty reported detecting the odor of cigarette smoke along with the presence of a man in the room. She described the man as wearing a dress shirt, unbuttoned at the top, no tie and brown hair. She stated that it felt like he was clearing tables. On a side note, Patty also reported getting the feeling of another man in a uniform, and had asked about this a few times during the EVP sessions. An interesting thing happened here. Patty, Steve and Dan all reported seeing a dark shape develop just behind Jim. All three investigators saw this at the same time, and a photo taken at the time shows a faint orb behind Jim.

This concluded our investigation for this night. We packed up and then hung out with the owners for a while.

Conclusion and Impressions- Although much of what was experienced were feelings or impression related, we did have several events that were observed physically, such as the sightings by Bob and I, the "knock" answer to Patty's question and the group sighting by Team 2. We also have another possible EVP, but it will need to be verified before we mention any more.

        When this is coupled with the reported activity (which was obtained during the interview), then it certainly gives us reason to continue investigating this site. The history is currently being researched, and we come up with many people associated with the site in the past. Our next visit will be a more aggressive investigation, using the names and dates we have to provoke a response.

        I did notice that the events that happened to Team 1 happened near the owner that joined us. An interesting thing that Dick had suggested was that the owners brought something with them…perhaps they did!
