The Beechwood Cemetery

Date(s)- October 22, 2003
Times- Ahh 9:15 to 10:00
Those Present- Diana, Patty, Donna, Hank and Kenny

History- We haven't done any real research on this cemetery. A quick survey on the internet reviels only that the place is reported to be haunted and that it's an "evil" place. Two of the members on this investigation were here a few years ago, with another paranormal team. During that investigation, there was something evil felt and seen by two investigators (one of which was here tonight-Kenny). Both visits were done at night and we didn't get a chance to study the headstones, to get the ealiest dates. All I can tell you is that the cemetery is divided into two sections by a line of trees. It is within that tree line that the "evil thing" was.

Report of Events- On a whim, we hastily through this investigation together. Unfortunately, Mrs. Fate was working against us. First, we had a few people drop out (for good reasons). Then Kenny & Donna were held up becaus ethey were looking at a house (which they bought!). This meant that Patty and Hank were held up (Kenny was their ride). We were supposed to meet up with another team, which ended up not being able to make it. And through it all, Diana was the only one who showed up on time! The down side to that was that she sat in a dark, spooky, "evil" cemetery by herself for 45 minutes! Yes, this night was doomed from the start.
When Kenny, Donna, Patty and Hank finally arrived...we got in touch with Diana and attempted to save the night. We wondered around the "nice" section for about a half hour. No one picked up on anything. Pictures weren't showing anything that could really be taken for anything other then dust. The was only one instance in which Kenny's brand, spankin new video camera simply shut off. No reason, it just shut down. Other then that, the mood was calm.
We then moved over to the evil section of the cemetery, located at the intersection of Hulmeville Rd. and Bensalem Blvd. We walked down tot he area where Kenny had witnessed an apparition/shadow on his previous visit. (Kenny's description from his first Beechwood Investigation- Debbie came up to me and said she had felt a cold spot in the far corner of the lot, near the edge of the woods. I walked down with her but I didn't feel anything. She said it wasn't there now. We started to walk back to the group. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a dark shape on the edge of the woods. I slowly turned my head so I could look directly at it. I stopped. About 8 feet away I saw a small black blob. It was about 3 to 3 and half feet tall. It was oval shaped with no extremities. What really stuck out was how black it was. Being in a cemetery at night, everything is black or darn near close to it. This thing was the deepest black I have ever seen. I can't be sure, but I thought the middle of it had depth. Like you could go inside it. I didn't! I also had a strong feeling of caution, like it didn't want anything to do with me. After a few seconds, the blob shrunk. This happened so fast that I almost didn't realize what it had done. I turned to Debbie to ask her if she had seen it. She looked scared and she described the same thing I saw. I approached the edge of the woods where we had seen it. There were bushes all around and a large tree limb on the ground. If it were an animal, it would've had to either jump over the limb or come out towards us to run away. It didn't disturb anything when it left. I pointed my thermal scanner into the woods and watched it go from 87 to 24 degrees, then back up to 87 where it stayed. We got the others and told them what had happened. Lew pointed out the place to us! He said he had seen two black forms in the same place. After several pictures and readings taken, we collected into a group.) This time around, nothing appeared but a pair of skunks!
We thought briefly abbout attempting some EVP recordings, but the bugs in the trees and the nearby traffic made it extremely noisy. Any recordings would have been useless. We packed up, apologized to Diana for being late, and headed to Nifty Fifires for some food.

Conclusion and Impressions-
Kenny- If I had to judge this place soley on what we experienced on this night, I would never bother coming back. There was too much noise, too many shadows bouncing around from all the traffic and to be honest...I was simply too pissed off about everything going wrong with this investigation. But, since I had such a strong experience before, I'm willing to try this place again. We'll have to schedule our next visit on a much cooler night when the whole team can be there.
