A friend that I work with stopped me the other day to
tell me about his church. Knowing about my interest in the paranormal, he
told me that he, and several musicians he plays with, had experienced some
activity at this church. He described a dark figure that has been seen, out
of the corner of the eye, many times by himself and several others. He told
me of one incident when his band had stopped playing. All of a sudden they
all heard heavy footsteps run from one end of the church to the other.
As you may have guessed, this caught my interest and
I asked if I could bring out a few people to investigate. My friend, Walt,
gained permission from the Pastor and the blessing of the other musicians.
So, my wife, myself and PIRA member Bob spent a few hours talking with the
musicians and exploring the old church. The Pastor was kind enough to give
us a tour of the church and connected buildings, as well as giving access
to these areas for photography.
There is a certain door, which leads to a stairway,
that Walt tells me he feels uncomfortable around. According to the musicians,
this is where the ghost, nicknamed Buddy, hangs out. I decided to take a
look in the stairway. It went down into the basement level, directly under
the church. I took some pictures, during which I felt a cold draft go past
me. I noted it down but didn't give it much thought at the time, due to another
doorway that led outside. The temperature was about 34 degrees. Later on,
when I we went over our pictures, I discovered that I captured two very nice
pictures of Ecto in the stairway. Later on, the three of us stood in the
stairway and attempted to recreate the ecto picture. We wanted to rule out
the possibility of my frozen breath getting caught. We could not duplicate
the effect even though the temperature was the same.
I then sat in the main area of the church and snapped
off about two dozen photos of the corner with the "uncomfortable" door. The

Bob was able to get some good picture as well. He probably
got one of the best pictures I've seen.While in the basement of the church,
we were all snapping off pictures. We wanted to get a good view of the room
from all angles. It is set up as a classroom like area for children. In the
center of the room there were several chairs set up in a half-moon style
with all facing a larger chair. In this photo, there is a dark, shadowy figure
actually sitting in one of the smaller chairs. We did not detect any indications
that we had activity, it was a very lucky random photo. The photo, and a

We found that most of the activity we experienced was
concentrated in the main area of the church. We also noted that activity
was zero until the musicians started playing. In my opinion, the music drew
the spirit(s) out, as if they were there to enjoy the music these people
made.
The stairway opposite of the "uncomfortable" door, was
where I had a heavy feeling. I don't know if I can contribute this to a
paranormal experience yet, but I do plan on going back. We are planning a
full investigation at a later date. I'll keep you posted!
