So, this page has been created to address our guidelines for Ghost Tour recommendations. In addition, we'll also be including guidelines for tours that do not actually deal with the paranormal directly, but aid in the teaching of history, which is so important to us as investigators.

The Official
If your tour, whether is a Ghost Tour or Historical Tour (we have logos for both), fits into the guidelines, we'll issue you a certificate. This will include your tour name on the logo above (but much bigger), as well as state that YOUR tour has been recommended by the members of P.I.R.A. Hey People, this is a free service! __________________________

2- Tours must contain the history of the site, including what is believed to be the cause of the haunting activity. Yeah, we're looking for tours that teach the history of the ghost, the house/building and even the town. 3- Tour Guides must "know" their stuff; know the story well, know the history well and be able to answer questions about the ghosts/haunted activity. We like it when the tour guide has researched the site themselves, instead of just retelling a scripted story. 4- We need to be able to take your tour unannounced. Although many tour owners have generously offered us free tours, we feel this puts a unspoken obligation on us. Besides, what better way is there to experience a tour than when the guide is relaxed? 5- Tour guides must be able to project their voice so everyone can hear. We've taken a few tours where we missed half the story because the tour guide wouldn't speak up. 6- Tour Guide Attitude! We don't like dull, monotone speakers that make tourists yawn. We love when the guide loves their job! We like hearing little jokes (the good ones, not bad ones), interesting facts and interaction with the crowd. 7-
Gimmicks do not work on us. A ton of "ghostly" photos
doesn't mean squat when we can pick out how they were
"made". Free use of EMF detectors while walking the tour
under power lines can also rub us the wrong way. |
