S&W 422 Disassembly As Promised

Once you get the recoil spring guide retention "thingie" out you need to remove the disassembly tool and pull the recoild spring guide and spring from the front of the slide. Then you can remove the slide from the gun by sliding to the rear and lifting up.

When you reassemble you need to insert the recoil spring guide and spring into the front of the slide and then push it back far enough so that you can insert the disassembly tool between it and the receiver. Only after doing so can you push the slide forward and reinsert the recoil spring guide retainer. Then pull back the slid slightly and remove the tool.

No further takedown is needed for maintenance.
