Registration Update
Posted December 28, 2008
All received registrations have been processed. If you sent a registration and did NOT get email notification of receipt, send Coach Campbell an email.

Those with incomplete registrations have been sent email notifications with instructions on how to correct deficiencies.

ALL forms and the first installment of Dues ($150 check made out to "Southridge Boosters" and sent to Coach Campbell) is due no later than January 9, 2009.

Please remember:
• Medical Release forms must be mailed to Coach Campbell. He does NOT have access to school files so "On file with the school" notes do not work;
• US Lacrosse membership verification is NOT your application for the membership and is NOT USL's website search for your membership information (duplicates make this unreliable). Please send an actual verification of your membership.
Lacrosse Meeting Cancelled
Posted December 15, 2008
Due to School weather closure, the Parent & new player meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, is cancelled. We will re-schedule soon so keep checking.
Registration
Posted December 15, 2008
Initial Registration is complete. If you mailed your registration information you will recieve a confirming email by January 1, 2009. Remember that the remainder of the registration forms (Medical waiver, US Lacrosse membership confirmation & $150 first installement dues payment) is due no later than January 9, 2009. Late registration will be accepted up to January 9, 2009 & must include ALL forms and initial payment.

If you mailed your registration to Southridge then it's at the wrong place and will probably NOT be received by the Coaches.

At this time there are 45 players registered which means we will probably not have a JV-2 team in 2009.
Lacrosse Training
Posted November 23, 2008
Pre-season conditioning will begin in January 2009 on a voluntary basis for those prospective players who want some extra conditioning work before the regular season. These sessions will probably be conducted by a trainer from "Pure Lacrosse". See the 2009 Schedule Calendar for dates & times(subject to change). Keep checking back for updates.

Progressive Training Systems is also offering some conditioning sessions to those who are interested in starting earlier than January 2009. See the 2009 Schedule Calendar for dates& times.
Official Registration
Posted October 20, 2008
Remember to register for the 2009 season. This year all registration will be by mail and in two parts.

Your initial registration must be postmarked between November 1 and December 6, 2008. This is just basic information that we need to start the season and requires no money. Click here to download the Registration Form.

Your registration Fee of $150 (for the first installment of Team Dues, payable to "Southridge Booster Council", your Medical Waiver (page 6 of the Registration Form or the Southridge Sports Medical, either current within 2 years prior to June 30, 2009) and your US Lacrosse Membership confirmation (membership must be current through July 31, 2009), must be mailed and postmarked no later than January 9, 2009. Incomplete Registration or Medical forms will be returned.

The remainder of the dues must be paid when Uniforms are issued (February 28, 2009).

Registrations postmarked after January 9, 2008 may not be considered for placement on the tryout roster and your registration and fee will be returned to you, if the tryout roster is full. We are looking at placing no more than 80 candidates on the tryout roster for no more than 65 player positions. If your registration is postmarked after January 9, 2008 and there is room on the tryout roster and if your late registration is accepted, a $25 fee will be added to the cost of your registration. This is no guarantee that any late registration will be accepted.

Mail all forms to Coach Campbell (address on registration form). Please follow the form instructions carefully. Late registrations will be returned. Remember that we will have 2 Teams: Varsity & JV and we may have a JV2 Team if we have sufficient Coaching Staff and enough players. Each team is limited to 20 to 25 players. Tryouts rosters are also limited, so a late registration may result in your inability to participate in the tryouts.

ALL Players MUST include ALL required & completed paperwork.  The Registration forms are on the Website (Forms).

Boys Lacrosse Information Meeting
Posted October 20, 2008
There will be a Boys Lacrosse informational meeting in December 2008 (date, time & location to be announced). Team Coaches will address Teams structure and size (number of player positions available), the 2009 Season Calendar, equipment requirements, introduction to the Coaches and Coaches' expectations, necessary player committements, fees and Team dues, insurance, etc. This is the meeting that new, prospective players & parents should attend, however it is also a good meeting for past players to attend so we all start out on the same foot. The meeting will last about an hour.

You can register beginning November 1, 2008. All Registration paperwork is due by December 6, 2008. This will ensure that you receive timely emails regarding the upcoming season.

For those new to the process, here is a short overview. The Lacrosse season is during spring sports, roughly from the end of February to June. There are tryouts for the team, which run for several days, from February 23-25, 2009. To qualify to tryout you must Register. Registration puts you on the tryout list and includes reading, signing and mailing all the forms and, by January 9, 2009, paying part of the Team dues. If for some reason you decide not to tryout or do not make the Team your partial dues payment is refunded.  After you register you get ready for tryouts. During tryouts the Coaches decide who is on which team and who is cut. Seniors cannot play on the JV Team so Seniors must make the Varsity squad or they cannot play. After the cut, uniforms are issued on February 28, 2009, at which time players pay the remainder of the dues. Click here for 2009 dues information. Both Varsity & JV practice and play home games on the Southridge turf field. Practice is 5 days a week, and will vary between 2 sessions: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM or 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday, game days excluded. There will be some special practice sessions that will last from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The reason there are two different start times for practice is that we are sharing the field with the Girls’ Team and we plan to alternate weeks for practice start times. Each team will play no fewer than 14 games and have the opportunity to play in at least on non-league tournament. Varsity may play as many as 20 games with 2 of these games player out of State.
Equipment
Posted October 20, 2008
Remember that there are minimum equipment standards for those playing on Southridge Lacrosse Teams, including required brand equipment and color standards. Click "Gear" for details. Some NEW players may have equipment they have used in the past that may or may not meet our standards, therefore we suggest consult the Gear page to ensure that you have the proper and required equipment to participate with the Team.

Equipment issued by the Team is as follows:
• Varisty: Home and Away Jerseys, Game Shorts, Team Helmets, warm-up jackets, practice jerseys;
• JV-1: Home and Away Jerseys, Game Shorts, practice jerseys.

For 2009 we may be issuing Team Helmets to JV players.  In the meantime ALL players should plan to have a practice helmet (Black in color). More on this as the season approaches.

ALL other equipment is the responsibility of the player.
