2008 Schedule Information
Posted October 20, 2008
Tthe 2009 Game schedule will be available in February 2009. The Varsity will be available on this site and at Oregonlax.com when it is complete. The JV Schedule will be available a few weeks after that & also at Oregonlax.com. The directions to AWAY games are posted within the Oregonlax Website.
• We will schedule back to back Varsity-JV HOME games (easy on the field scheduling, referee assignments, Parents & Coaches). Most of the other schools do the same. Any additional JV games will be Away games;
• There will be no fewer than 14 games scheduled for each Team, each season: 7 Home & 7 Away;
• Varsity plays a 14 League game season and there are plans to play at least 6 more games for a total of 20 games, with 2 of these games played out of State, probably Washington unless the Team wants to play in Utah or Arizona or California, which would add extra cost to the season;
•The League JV Coaches will meet on January 24, 2009 to work on the JV game schedule, which should be complete by the first week in February 2008. JV may play up to a 20 game schedule, including 14 to 16 regular season games, 3 games at the Spring Jamboree, which will be sometime in April 2009. More information on both of these events as soon as we get game times and exact locations from the League;
• JV Home Game times are usually set for a 6:30 PM start due to Youth Track which has the Athletic Field until ~6:30 PM each day during our season. This means that JV games are set for an hour, since there must be time for Varsity warm-ups with Varsity games starting at 8:00 PM;
• The Schedule will be posted on this Website and players & parents are advised to check the schedule frequently, and especially on Game days, to make sure somthing has not changed last minute, due to unexpected changes in game start times, field locations and bus departure times. Players are expected to attend practice every day and pay attention so game changes will NOT be surprise, since we will let players know during practice if anything has changed;
• Note that the Bus Departure from Southridge and Return to Southridge are listed on the schedule with corresponding AWAY games. Busses leave on time, however Return times vary depending on game lengths. ALL players are required to ride the Bus to and from games, unless you have specific permission from the Coach to do otherwise;
• This year we are planning to use Google Calendar for all events & games. The link for the Southridge Lacrosse (Boys) Calendar will be provided to registered players some time in January;
• Please note that there may be games which require Early Release, so the Team can make it to the game venue in time to warm up and play. It is the Player's responsibility to make arrangements for Early Release on these dates. I will supply Ms. Cummings (Southridge Activities Director) with a list of all of our Players to help facilitate this, but the Player must make it happen;
• Practices are at Southridge. Practice sessions will run between 6:30 PM and 10:00 PM, when scheduled. Since we will be sharing the practice field with the Girls' Lacrosse Team we will adjust practice start times from week to week and sometimes day to day. On days when the Girl's have Home games we may practice at Conestoga Middle School or we may run sideline drills & conditioning;
• Any Saturday practices are for ALL Varisty and for invited JV players only;
• There will be a Weekly Practice Drill Schedule posted that will show what each Team and what each Squad on each Team will be doing each day. More on that to follow.

Pre-Season & Practice Schedule
Posted October 20, 2008
Pre-season conditioning will be held from Monday to Friday, Feb 16-120, 2009, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at the Southridge Athletic Field. Pre-Season conditioning will be conducted by last year's Team Captains. Bring all of your running gear and be prepared for the weather. These sessions are not mandatory.

All forms must be received and submitted for a Player to participate in pre-season conditioning. Any Registration material received by Coach Campbell after January 9, 2009 will not be accepted even if there is room on the Tryout Roster. Players should wear footwear that allows both forward and lateral movement (low-ankle running shoes are NOT recommended; 3/4 height turf or basketball shoes are best). Players should also consider wearing clothing that is non-restrictive and designed for foul weather, since we will be outside the entire time and we cannot expect to have access to the School building.

Full field practice will begin on Monday, February 23, 2009. All prospective players must be fully equiped and ready to go no later than 6:00 PM. Rally point for players is the outside concrete area next to the Commons. If you do not have all the required equipment you will not participate. Practice is every day, Monday to Friday, except when your Team has a game. There is practice during Spring Break. Schedule to be announced.

ALL players are expected to pitch in and help setting up for practice. This means carrying equipment to the field and setting up goals, nets, cones, etc. We arrive at the field get the field ready and do the Warm-up. Tossing the ball around will occur only AFTER the practice field is ready to go and warm-ups are complete. Notify your coaches in advance if you must miss practice. Unexcused absences are cause for your dismissal from the Team. Excessive excused absences, though legitimate, will affect your game-playing time. Simply put, if you are NOT at practice we cannot expect that you will know what to do in game situations. Those who come to practice and work hard can and will play. See "Game Eligibility" for more details on practice requirements. Players must have ALL of their equipment, including their practice jerseys, which will be issued to New players prior to the first week of practice. You will not be permitted to practice if you are missing required equipment. And the answer ahead of time is "NO!". The Coaches will NOT have extra stuff for you.

There will be a Game & Practice schedule posted on the Website in February 2009. The schedule will change from time to time, based on things that are out of our control. It is your responsibility to check the Calendar frequently (preferably every day) to stay up to speed.

There are no excuses for missing practice or games. We know you think there are legitimate reasons for not being at practice and you have to make responsible decisions based on your priorities. The bottom line, however, is that if you miss practice for any reason...then you miss practice. And we have to backfill your spot with someone who is at practice.
