Puget Sound Cruisers

Meeting Minutes 07-13-2008

John called the meeting to order at 1:20. He introduced new member Dennis Harvey from Arlington.  Dennis and Marci are the proud owners of two PT Cruisers – a 2005 Inferno Red and a 2006 Magnesium Pearl. We look forward to seeing them both on future cruises.

Don Dillon gave the Treasurers report. The Country Village Rendezvous made some money and we are still doing well without having to resort to monthly dues.

Old Business

Sharon Dillon said the Scrapbook Committee is on hiatus – John said thanks to the committee ladies for their hard work.

Dennis gave a report on the PT picnic at Borst Park in Centralia. The park was beautiful, it was very hot but we were in the shade with a nice breeze and TVCC provided a cooling shower. Thanks go to Mt. Rainier Cruisers and TVCC for organizing the great day! The coordinators of the clubs present had a short meeting afterwards and agreed to repeat the event for next year.

Debby Judd reported on our cruise to the Maltby Café for breakfast, Flower World and her beautiful gardens. Again the day was warm and sunny everyone had a great time.

The PT Rendezvous at Country Village lucked out again and avoided the rain clouds. Good thing too as we were without our usual huge tent! The pot luck picnic was a success with more food than we could eat, Tom Pitcher said $130.00 was raised for the Diabetes Walk that will be held in October. Watch the Forum for details on that if you want to participate.

John said the Mt. Rainier Cruisers will be having a Show and Glow at Billy McHale’s in Federal Way Friday night August 15th  and a Meet ‘n  Greet the next day Saturday the 16th hosted by Matson Dodge in Auburn – NOTE the change of venue for the Saturday Meet’ Greet. The Kitsap Cruisers have invited us to their Pot-luck Picnic at the Bremerton Elks Club Sunday August 31st. Details will be coming by email as they don’t keep a website.

The Skykomish Show ‘n Shine is scheduled for Saturday August 23d. They will be back in the park this year and will have a Best PT Cruiser and Best Trunk Show award. Coordinator - Ken Bartlett. A registration form is on the Events page of our website.

The Baloney Classic Car Club will be holding their Second Annual Classic Car Show at Issaquah Valley Elementary School, Saturday August 23d. Proceeds benefit Diabetes Research and the Issaquah Schools. Questions - call Joe Bellotti 206-329-7979.

Jan Foster reported Val and Chris Ensor are still negotiating the accommodations for the North Cascade Cruise next October 11th & 12th. Watch your email and the Forum for final details. The tentative plan is to go on the Art Walk in Winthrop and spend the night at the Winthrop Hotel, but this is not final.

Sharon suggested we raffle off a gas card in addition to the 50/50 raffle at our meetings. The members voted to do that beginning next month. Pat & John will get the gas cards.

Ken Bartlett said Charlton Glassworks is having their studio open house July 19th & 20th from 10:00 to 4:00.

Ken also said there will be a car show (free) at the Ballard Elks on Labor Day.

Brian Hulbert won the 50/50 raffle.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 pm and the members cruised off to Baskin & Robbins at Lake Forest Park and the Farmers Market to shop for some good local stuff.

Respectfully submitted,

Pat Smith-Major
