I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, at a time when everyone said that the end of the world would come in the year 2000. Whether that happened or not is still being debated. The myth of the "good old days" is a difficult one to shed.
I am part English, part Irish, part German, part Acadian. In these days of ethnic bonding, I am an amorphous white person with no racial ethnicity at all. I am a ghost of a Californian, of an American.
I am a mother, an idealist, and most times an optimist. I have been an editor, a writer, and a publicist. I have many avocations, most of which appear on these pages.
In June 2003 I took a class in web design. This was a 4-week online class through Sacramento City College. The instructor, Michael Begley, was absolutely wonderful and guided us through the morass of html until we had competent projects to show for our efforts.
Here's my first web page. The assignment was to make a simple web page that told something about the designer. We were to have personal information and at least two graphics as well as at least two lists. All in html code. Be warned: I've dropped the links to the tutorials, so they don't work.
Welcome to my life! Have a seat. Grab an iced tea if it's summer where you are. Pour yourself a cuppa if it's winter. No matter what the season,
Enjoy!
