Jill and Dean's Wedding

On Saturday, August 26, 2006, at the Evergreen Lake House in Evergreen, Colorado, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, lovely lake, and happy family and friends, Jill Phillips and Dean Zents became man and wife.

Below are some of the pictures from the day before the wedding, the ceremony, and the reception.

The wedding weekend began on Friday when friends and family started gathering. Dean and Jill graciously gave tours of their home (left), and then that night under Debbie's careful coordination everyone came together.

The mingling of the families and friends was a highlight of Friday night's get-together. Family members from as nearby as Ft. Collins and as far away as Nebraska, and Ohio made the evening a very special one.

The next day the families and friends gathered outside before the ceremony to chat and meet one another. As the caterer and the DJ set up and the bridal party got ready for the event, people took a moment to soak up the crisp Colorado morning and look at the extraordinary scenery.

While the finishing touches were added to the reception area, Dean received his bride gift--a Bronco's jersey and tickets to a game. Hard to imagine this handsome guy in his classy tux being excited by a couple of tickets, but he was.

After all the preparation, after all the meeting and greeting, after all the waiting, the wedding began. Jim escorted his lovely daughter down the aisle.

Then the official ceremony began with a welcome, then the exchanging of vows and rings, a prayer, and the presentation of the new couple.

Wishing Jill and Dean a long and happy life together, family and friends celebrated the day with them. Dean, ever the gentleman, danced not only with his new wife, but also with the youngest guests.

Although Jill tried to lick the knife after cutting the cake, she and Dean did manage to feed each other pieces of the bridal cake (right). Then Dean delighted his new wife, family and friends with a panoply of items which he found under the wedding dress as he searched for Jill's garter (left).

Before the bride and groom left on their honeymoon, there was time for family portraits. At left is the Jim Phillips family: Jim, Jill, Roxi, and Debbie. At right are the Phillips family: Pat, Jim, Mother Lee, and Kay.

Jim and Debbie were happy that everything went off so smoothly. Then during a quick mountain shower, Jill and Dean made their getaway to the cheers of all.
