Hello, my name is Patricia Bird. I am a Mount Prospect resident, lifelong Illinois resident, and a Republican since missing the age cutoff to vote for Ronald Reagan in November 1980. My reasons for recently running for U.S. Congress include an innate passion to help people and a strong commitment to make a positive contribution and serve in government. I am a traditional Republican neither all moderate nor all conservative. I believe in a strong Federal government which our founding fathers set forth, one responsible for the safety and well-being of its citizens but one which adheres to fiscal responsibility and basic principles. I am greatly concerned with fiscal soundness, economic utility, morality, and security of this great country.
My education consists of a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Public Administration from Northern Illinois University in De Kalb. While on campus I was Secretary of the Student Economic Association (nominated President) and a Residence Hall Association Athletic Director. Also a former Mortgage Manager, Retail Cashier, Restaurant Cook, I have been a political watchdog responding to local, state, nationwide, and federal issues since graduation from school. I am currently job hunting and looking for business consulting opportunities. I participate or have participated in the Northern Illinois University Alumni Association, Lung Association Volunteer, was raised in the Episcopal Church, and am a member of the Catholic Church.
Please take a few moments to view my website. Feel free to post comments or contact me at any time about issues or concerns you may have about current events and issues at my email patriciabirdforcongress@comcast.net.
As you may know: I have withdrawn my candidacy from this election. I have specific reasons for doing so but am not ruling out another run in the future. In the upcoming weeks I will be re-editing this website with further details. A hearty thank you to all of you who signed my petition and supported my campaign. It was a great pleasure to speak with you and receive your input. I am always working for you.
Sincerely Yours,
Patricia Bird
