Forest Fire
One of the more difficult types of combat during the Revolutionary
War were battles that took place in the thick wooded terrain of America.
Eighteenth Century armies had been fighting linear engagements based
on the open fields of Europe. Fighting through the vines, brush and
swamps of America began to change these tactics. The result was open
order fighting where you may be separated from your main unit, with
only a few comrades by your side.
