    Meet Results from Virginia Swimming

    Saturday Afternoon - Swim Finals: 
    Paced by top ten finishes in every event where the girls had an entry and highlighted by relay victories in the 200 Medley and 200 Free relays and the first place finish in diving by Maren Taylor, the girls repeated as the AAA State Champions.  Their team score of 249.5 put them ahead of Fairfax (218) and Robinson (205.5).  The 200 Medlay Relay of Katy Hinkle, Abby Ortmayer, Thea Kromer, and Kristen Wolla set a new National High School record with their time of 2:01.35.  The 200 Free Relay (Taylor, Wolla, Kromer, Hinkle) broke their own National record set in prelims with a finals time of 1:49.04.

    AJ Dunn tied for 13th in the 100 Breastsroke and helped the boys finish 26th in the State.

    Saturday Morning - Diving:
    Both boys finish in the Top 10 in the State.  Tom Wells finished 6th in the with 426.42 points and Jake Ward was 10th with 345.51 points.

    Girl divers start title defense.  Maren Taylor won the State dive competition with 420.93 points and Meg Alderman finished in fifth place with 376.38 points.  The divers started the state title defense with 34 team points.

    Friday - Swim Prelims:  The Yorktown girls advanced all swimmers to finals and all 3 three relays made the A finals.  The 200 Free Relay team of Maren Taylor, Kristen Wolla, Thea Kromer, and Katy Hinkle broke State and National High School records with a time of 1:49.72.  The 200 Medley Relay just missed the National record by 0.23 second and will take another shot at in Finals.  AJ Dunn made finals in the 100 breaststroke.
