.... and of all the treasures you might seek, you know the journey is the prize (Ray White)

It's awfully late (or actually very early) so this will have to be brief. Mexicali Blues - what a venue!!! AWESOME FOOD, KILLER PA SYSTEM, and KIND FOLKS. Despite the bad weather, there were a bunch of folks that came out (maybe 50-75), at least for a little while. The show was cut short (probably minus 40-60 min) because they wanted to send folks home early - but the music was full of energy, and jamming, and those that were there, had a good time. Thanks so much to everyone that made my B-Day so special - you guys are just the greatest!!!!! :) You never cease to amaze me. Hope you feel better soon Bruce - you get the big A (or is it E) for Effort.

It was such a white knuckle ride home - not a night for those that are weather -challenged. I sure hope everyone made it home safely. We definitely drove home in the brunt of the storm.

Musically, there were a lot more ups than downs. Taper Tim sat in for a good part of the show on electric guitar - thanks guys for letting me make some noise. The music had less of a far out trippy jam feel tonight, but it definitely rocked. In the first set, there were strong versions of several songs - A Shooting Tequila open, One MOre Time!, another great Calling, a killer Cold Rain and Snow, the interesting combo of Festival >> Dark Star (1st verse) >> Let It Rock. Set 2 was cut short by the need to vacate and get headed home. Set 2 included the Juggling Suns return of an old favorite - Open Road (a real upbeat feel to this one, and such a happy song!). There were also happy, boppy versions of Ya Mar, That's What Love, and Bertha. Tapes sounded okay on the ride home, so we'll see about getting this one on disc.

See you tomorrow at the Veggie Works - back to the acoustic thing and more great food!

Thanks again for such a special night!
