Howdy Gang:
Didn't
see these setlists posted, and I have little time right now for a detailed
review. From the 17:45 min opening Laced in Silver to the "quiet" Northern
Lights (trying to avoid the cops shutting us down), this show was definitely
an interesting night. Bruce's full version of "When the Music's Over" was
certainly one of the festival highlights (surprised he still has any voice
left at all after the great screams).

Howdy Gang:
Day 2 of the Stonehenge Fest featured super hot weather, but a great afternoon of music with the likes of Solar Circus, Billy Hector, the Voo Dudes, and KB2 to name a few. Mark only played twice this day (Acoustic Mark and Friends gave up their time slot to ensure that the Juggling show would not get shut down by the local authorities), but what great jams he played. This show was highlighted by the Gus' breakout of Trey/Phish's Cayman Review, a return of "Crimson Jam" (untitled), and a sweet version of Open Road with Stringbean on harmonica. It was also great to hear a complete and uninterupted version of Twilight Dance.

How can I be the first one home?? I'll tell ya, the "..mornin' sun", two full Mark and friends cds from May-thank you Tim- and MINDFUL of flipped out memories from what I will be on record as saying was the BEST HENGE EVER! Sweet weather, all the Juggling Nation hangin out, the Solar Set, 2 days full of smokin bands from the Sequoia all the way thru Mr. Hector and KB2 and VDs! And then, in stead of folding under the hype of a big show, the Suns played some of the kindest sets of jamming vibes I can remember. I mean, wholly shit. I thought Bruce was going to require medical attention during the Doors rap..that was UNBELIEVABLE. And the AIR TIGHT set on Saturday, well I'm still, obviously, blown away. Was it me, or were the vocals on St Stephen parTICularly schweeet.? Hats off to one one, not 2, not three, but 4 and more of the best sound guys around too for getting off a great sounding fest that moved along with pace. There were some hustling bands down there, and I barely had time to get to the Sugar Shack, take a psss, pack one and get back for the next band. And these are super nice sound people too! Not the asshole uptight kind you get with most bands! And they can rreally rip the trumpet too, for what for me was the other musical highlight. Obsession indeed. Wasnt sad driving home this time, for July beackons. Brianne, you looked radiant and healthy. Shine on!!Thank you Mark, Bruce, Gus, and Ivan [we're with you, bud...] for all that you do for all of us. Oh, and thanks to you too, Mug, dick.....
Best Birthday
Ever!!!!

Yeah, I
just wanted to let everyone know how insane this weekend was. By far the
best festival I've ever been to. From the second I drove in there till
the second I left, I was up to my eyeballs in good vibes, kynd folks, and
great times. I want to say thank you to all of the people who made this
one of the best weekends (and birthdays) i've ever had. Thanks to Shorty
for the patches, the tapes sound great. Thanks to Al for gathering all
the crap I left behind and dropping it off at the tent on Sun. morning
and for those other things (you know what I mean hehe). And thanks to Bubblechick
for making up those groovy nametags for everyone and for being the Mistress
of Ceremonies and keeping the peace. And thanks to Hilbilly Jim for all
those damn bowls. Hey, Its my turn the next time I see you brother. And
to everyone that I forgot to mention who touched my very soul this weekend,
new friends I made and old friends I've known, I owe you all a debt of
gratitude. And of course thanks to those Juggling Suns for being the best
damn jamband I know and putting the whole shindig together. You guys are
the best, keep it up and one day you'll be bigger than Lionel Ritchie or
Elvis.
Stonehenge
was certainly something special and thanks once again to everyone who made
it so.
Peace and
Good Vibes,
Ian
